received their diplomas June 1. Parents,
relatives, and friends were there to
witness this proud achievement.

conjunction with the All-Indian
Rodeo held June 29-30 in
Warm Springs.
Entrance Fee is $60 per
roper with added purse of

Tuesday through Thursday,
June 25-27. The conference,
"Walk the Walk," will be at
the Pi-Ume-Sha grounds.

"Buffalo Battalion" held an
awards ceremony May 28, to
present awards and promo
tions to JROTC students.
Senior Army Instructor,
Captain T.J. Burroughs, was
the master of ceremonies, with
MSG Paul Viscaino, who is
new this year.
Promotions were presented
to cadets who demonstrated
their potential for increased
responsibility.

Jermayne Tuckta is an eighth grader at
Jefferson County Middle School. He has a
4.0 GPA for the second trimester and his
favorite classes are social studies and
math. Advisors say Jermayne was
selected as student of the month for May,
because he is active in the community and
at school. He is a member of the Native
American Dance Group and he enjoys
playing In the middle school band.
Jermayne is running for freshman class
vice-president. In the future he plans to
attend a police academy in San Bernadino
and eventually he would like to become an
archeologist. Jermayne will receive a $5
gift certificate to Dairy Queen and a $5 gift
certificate to Hollywood Stars Video

grade level, and cadets were
recognized for their attendance
at the youth leadership forum.
Special recognition awards

for foreign wars, the central
Oregon chapter of Retired Of
ficers Association, Daughter of
the American Revolution,
Military order of the World
Wars, Army recruiting award.
National Sojourners award,
and outstanding commitment
to the Madras JROTC program '
and cadet corps.
Cadets who received their
community service ribbons
were recognized, cadets that
attended youth leadership'
camp, cadets that attended
choir or band were honored,
and adventure training for
those who participated in (
spring camp, rappelling, night ,
vision goggle and water sur-,
vival training.
