Senior Army Instructor, Captain T.J. Burroughs, was the master of ceremonies, with MSG Paul Viscaino, who is new this year. Promotions were presented to cadets who demonstrated their potential for increased responsibility. He has a 4.0 GPA for the second trimester and his favorite classes are social studies and math. Advisors say Jermayne was selected as student of the month for May, because he is active in the community and at school. He is a member of the Native American Dance Group and he enjoys playing In the middle school band. Jermayne is running for freshman class vice-president. In the future he plans to attend a police academy in San Bernadino and eventually he would like to become an archeologist. The superior cadet award went to one student from each grade level, and cadets were recognized for their attendance at the youth leadership forum. Special recognition awards also were presented to veterans for foreign wars, the central Oregon chapter of Retired Of ficers Association, Daughter of the American Revolution, Military order of the World Wars, Army recruiting award. National Sojourners award, and outstanding commitment to the Madras JROTC program ' and cadet corps.
