Not to be outdone the children that
attended the Ichishkiin language classes
asked everyone's favorite M.C., Thomas
Morning Owl, to sing a song in Ichishkiin. It
sounded wonderful. Thomas was kind
enough to share with the Ichishkiin students,
a song that the Umatilla Language Program
adapted from the "The Ants Go Marching"
to share with the teachers and their school
friends.
Because there are so many parents
asking for a copy of the words to the
children's songs, they will be provided in this
edition of the Spilyay Tymoo.

Some of the Language Teachers have
earned scholarships to attend the
Northwest Indigenous Language Insti
tute in Eugene, Oregon on the Univer
sity of Oregon Campus. The Lan
guage Program works hard at being as
professional as the teachers hired
through the district. This allows us to
help Tribal Council acomplish it's PRI
ORITY in developing the resources to
develop new speakers of each of the
three tribal langauges. Your
