In the Presidents State to the Union the other night he is provid ing 10 billion dollars to the Ameri can Indian programs..."AAA Yeee ! ! Wouldn' that be something if he would make a statement like that or any one of the Presidents in their state to the union. It sure would be somethingb but you never hear any mention of the Native Americans form any one of the Presidents. It's always the Blacks or other nationalaties, but never the Indians. Of all the things that go on in the world today the U.S. is always giv ing away dollars to help other coun tries and our own people suffer., Yep! They say Warm Springs is always No. 1 , in what ever they do and thats no exception as there was a study made in Central Oregon lately and would you believe that Warm Springs was leading in one catagory. Warm Springs has the highest poverty rate in central Oregon. Yep! we do lead in things, don't wwe. The All Indian Bowling tournament held in Reno just completed where all the fellow Tribesmen gather to show their skills on the bowling alleys. At this time there is no results of who won anything at the tourney from Warm Springs. No matter if you are a top bowler or not its always good to go to Reno for the week-end, known as the biggest little city. AH the bright glimmering lights flashing people playing the machines hoping to hit that big jack-pot. There is alwlays a lot of exciement happening in Reno, NV. Just waiting for Valentines day to roll around, with all the Valentines wishes sent out to the loved ones. Yep! Bet there are a lot of secret admirers out there sending Valentinen messages..."Oh! Suger daddy, come to Mommy." and stuff like that...I can remember when I was just a cute little tyke, we used to cut out our own Valentines and past them together and send them to the girls..Every one sending Valentines to secret pals and to re-new old friendships. I remember getting a box of J candy for my honey and when I gave it to her she'began to get suspecious and was wondering if i had done something wrong. I had to explain that s it was Valentines Day and she should be glad that I did buy her a box of candy, even though I ate it in the end. The Gaming issue is a never ending story, as there will be meetings on the issuefor the future of our venture since our prime spot was not approved by the Governor, that of the location at Cascade Locks. Well we have trust land in Hood River, OR. where we could diprupt the beautiful Columbia River Goarge scenic area. Or we could build it along highway 26. Along a busy highway. The committee will have to ; come up with some good options for the tribal members to consider . No ' matter where we decide to build or if we dedide to build at all, we need to consider a good gaming center where we can bring in some entertain ment like other gaming centers where they bring in good entertainers, or TV Boxing. We speak of gaming sitluation for income for the Tribes, is there any other source or field open for an envestment that could bring in some funds to help the tribesTThats what we need to do is to discuss other possibilities of other income souces otherthan the gaming sitluation. Our timber and other sources are dwindling very rapedly and we need someback up income. Oh, well! We'll just have to play it lik it is. Ahh-Nah-Chi-Toon!!! Toe Ness From The Housing Department The Bowlers: Because Rudy works hard at the Housing Office and spends most evenings bowling or playing basketball at the community center, his wife thinks he is pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she takes him to the local strip club in Bend. The doorman at the club greets them and says, "Hey, Rudy how ya doing?" His Wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before. :"Oh no," says Rudy. "He's on my bowling team." When they are seated, a waitress asks Rudy if he'd like his usual Budweiser. Rudy's Wife is becoming uncomfortable and says "you must come here a lot for that Women to know you drink Budweiser." "No Honey, she's in the Ladies Bowling League. We share lanes with them." A stripper comes over to tleir table and throws her arms around Rudy. "Hi Rudy George," she says. "Want your usual table dance?" Rudy's Wife, now furious, grabs her purse and storms out of the club. Rudy follows and spots her getting into a cab. Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her and she starts screaming at him. The cabby turns his head and says, 'looks like you picked up a real doozy this time, Rudy!" Atwai MatildaMitchcll was happy that we named our baby girl Matilda after her and said to give her Indian Name "Ti-Cash-Palu" to her some time "ow-I-ya-uta" (after she passes away). We dis: covered it was our own family mem ber and live in boyfriend who is now in jail for theft.
