Co-ed softball tourney planned An adult co-cd softball tourna ment is planned in Pendleton July 4 6 as part of the Independence Day Celebration at Wildhorsc Gaming Resort. Games will be played at McKay Community Park in Pendleton. The tournament, limited to 16 teams, will be double elimination with a one-game championship. En try fee is $200 per team. Awards will include jackets and trophies for first and second place teams, T-shirts for third and fourth, a team sportsmanship bat bag, all-star T-shirts for men and women and bat bags for the MVP man and woman. " . fri" A, , A group photo of the youth and coaches at the Fastpitch clinic June 9 & 10, 1997 ' A fastpitch clinic was sponsored by the Healthy Nations, was held June 9 and 10. The camp had 52 youth attend the clinic, with wellknow players from around the Northwest conducting hitting fielding and stretching lessons. The clinic staff was Ken Billingsly, current Madras High Varsity Baseball coach, Ellen Tiger from LA, Denise Banelly of Reno and Priscilla Jay of Phoenix. Many of the local pa;lyers helped out with the clinic. They were the following peolpe: Don Bagley, Lynn Tanewasha, Denise White, Leslie Cochran, Snyder Lawrence, Luann Foltz. Val Fuiava and Remona Tanewasha kept things running smoothly. While at the clinic youth learned skills such as proper hitting, fielding and throwing techniques. The participants were served lunch both days and had a barbecue at the end of the clinic on Tuesday.
