Parent expresses
opinions
continued from page 7
Indian children are being treated at
the Middle School in Madras. Not all
Native American children belong to
gangs. In complete darkness, our
children are equal to those who go to
bed on the other side of the bridge. I
know of two teachers so far at the
middle school (both Ms. S.) who
could use a course in culture aware
ness. I'd like to invite her down to Pi-Ume-Sha,
and perhaps to stay with a
family on the reservation over the
weekend to see that we're not in a
cage "down here", but live on this
reservation as a people. I refuse to
stand by silently while verbal, physi
cal and mental abuse continues at the
Madras Middle School.
If you're having similar problems,
or would like to share a past negative
experience that occurred at the
Middle School, please contact me:

To the editor,
On behalf of our family, I would
like to tell those who gave words of
comfort, prayers, songs and help,

To my family, I want to say "we' ve
