Not all Native American children belong to gangs. In complete darkness, our children are equal to those who go to bed on the other side of the bridge. I know of two teachers so far at the middle school (both Ms. S.) who could use a course in culture aware ness. I'd like to invite her down to Pi-Ume-Sha, and perhaps to stay with a family on the reservation over the weekend to see that we're not in a cage "down here", but live on this reservation as a people. I refuse to stand by silently while verbal, physi cal and mental abuse continues at the Madras Middle School. If you're having similar problems, or would like to share a past negative experience that occurred at the Middle School, please contact me: PO Box 34; Warm Springs, OR 9776 1 (541)553-6835 (msg. phone). The undersigned names concur and support the views and opinions stated in this letter, and urge the WS Education Board representatives to act promptly.
