Marijuana use on a rise: In a recent study Marijuana use among teenagers has nearly doubled, most feel that the drug isnt dangerous. Many say when they go to the dances using Marijuana is the big social kick. If you don't use it your not with the "In Gang." Yep! The thing today is do what the others do or be a social out cast. Use drugs, alcohol just to be with the gang. "Big Deal." Sometimes or all the time the people who push this kind of thing on other kids are not the most desirable kind of people to be seen with. But some how they have that knack to sway a persons thoughts that what they do is the best thing in the world. If these kids think Marijuana is harmless to use, I don't know what ball park they are coming from. They don't realize how sapped up mind they can end up with. Some wont even be able to tell the time of the day it is. And to think of it, someday these kids will have the responsibility of running our affairs. Where are we going from here? Even Smoking is considered a drug now days, if it were not a drug than perhaps people could take it or leave it with out any trouble. At one time I thought I was a big-shot and smoked cigarettes and the only thing I could see I got out of it was shortness of breath. Oh Yeah! and stink breath!! There has been no one who has made any kind of report on the deaths caused by the use of drugs. When ever there is a fatal car accident they always blame drunk driving when in reality it could have just as well have been caused by the use of drugs. There should be a way to tell if drugs could have been the cause of a car accident as well as liquor. Guess its their way of getting out of investigating if it was drugs or alcohol, so they say, "he had and alcohol blood content of 0.5 alcohol and he was drunk There should be a method of seeing if drugs could have been the cause of the accident. Drugs and alcohol don't mix at any rate. Here we are trying to be the healthiest nation by the year 2000. People have no will power when once exposed to drugs. Its one excuse after another of why they rum to the use of drugs. Why don't they just admit it and say . T m a Dope Head," and be done with it and not make up one excuse after another. They should know that after a while no one believes them any way. Oh Well! the more people talk against something like this the more those dope heads go for it any way. Like talking to a wall. SS SS Several years ago there must have been some Anti-Indian senators like Slate Gorton, who polished up a package to present to all the Native Americans. It must have came at a time when conditions were terrible living on a reservation. Dollar signs did most of the talking and in order to get those dollars they, the Indians would have to agree to 'Termination." ' They knew just when and where to present this package and it was to the very un-fortunate ones where the dollar signs really looked inviting. Yep! The times were hard and in orderfor some individuals to get out of their debts the quickest way was to accept what was offered to them. The thousands of dollars really looked inviting so they went along with terminating their reservations. Some Tribes saw right through what was being offered and declined to except the money in exchange for all the rights on the reservation. Well, today the big problem is to balance the budget and cuts in the Federal funding is hurting many reservations. To get right down to the core of things its the dollar signs that is causing the problems at the reservation level. If all cuts are put into effect there will be a lot of un-employed people across the country. "Self-Sufficiency ," is another word that is dangerous because today as reservations are working toward self-sufficiency the senators are trying to find ways to drain all tribes of their Income as the tribes are striving for self sufficiency. The Federal Government is not holding up to their Trust Responsibility when the senators want to tax the Indian Tribes for the income they receive from ventures they have under gone working toward self sufficiency. They can't stand to see the Native Americans step foward and work toward self-sufficiency, earning their own income and getting ahead. AHH-NAH-CHI-TOON! ! ! ( BD( A guy told his pal: "money isn't important, Henry Ford had millions and never owned a Cadillac." YIKES SS SS I Political Jokes, but sometimes they SS SS Before Columbus discovered America there were no taxes, no Watergate, no Democrats, no Republicans, no energy crises, no TV Commericals, plenty of fish, no pollution and women did all the work. And now we have Politicians who want to improve on that. YIKES SS SS A man who runs for re-election is basically honest, which means he didn't get his hand in there the first time.
