Sanders was born January 27, 1937 to Martin and Edna (Smith) Sanders. He was an enrolled member of the Confeder ated Tribes of Warm Springs. He attended Warm Springs boarding school then Abernathy Elementary and Benson Technical High School in Portland. He had worked for the past 19 years at Warm Springs Forest Products Industries where he was most recently a sawmill foreman. He enjoyed drawing, art work, hunting, fishing, carving and Indian arts and crafts. He served in the U.S. Army. Private family dressing ceremo nies were held Wednesday, August 7 at 5 p.m. at Bel-Air Funeral Laura Jean Suppah Thomas Enrolled member of the Confed erated Tribes of Warm Springs, Laura Jean Suppah Thomas, passed away Monday, August 5 at her home in Husum, Washington. Thomas was born April 29, 1 943 in Simnasho to the late Mathew Sup pah, who preceded her in death October 27, 1965, and Hazel (Charley) Suppah, who passed away December 26, 1988. She was married to Harold Thomas August 29, 1964 and di vorced November 7, 1968.The couple was remarried January 30, 1975. She resided in Husum for the past 25 years. Survivors include his mother, Edna Sanders; his children, Cyn thia Stewart, James Baker-Sanders and Robin Hawkins all of Califor nia; Angelina Frutos, Rosanna Mae Sanders, Fred Sanders and Chrisy Ann Sanders of Warm Springs; his brother Jeff Sanders and sister-in-law Shirley Sanders; his sisters Irene Wells, Joann Bryant and Mernie Polk. He was preceded in death by his father November 15, 1967; his son Robert Sanders, Jr October 19, 1955 and his daughter Karen Sanders June 20, 1956. Sharold and Coreen Thomas; sons Harold, Jarod, Theron and Corey Thomas; brothers Roger and Erland Suppah, sisters Janice Clements, Lila Martinez, Georgena Suppah, Lucille Suppah, Geraldine Suppah and Celestine Suppah. She was also preceded in death by her brother Robert Suppah March 14, 1976. Dressing ceremonies were held Tuesday, August 6 at Simnasho Longhouse followed by overnight services.
