Buff girls take double-header;
It was a cold windy Saturday
April 27th when the Madras White
Buffalo girls took both ends of a
double header from the LaSalle
Falcons to up their Tri-Valley
league standings to 7-5.
Two home runs in the first game
sparked the Buffaloes to win in the
first game one by Jennifer Runge
and one by Beth Peterson. Also
during the game there were four
girls who got two hitsapicceduring
the game. Hits by Juanita Kalama,

When the Madras White Buffa
loes traveled to Riverside High
School at Boardman for a double
header, it was perhaps a trip they
shouldn't have taken. They were
shut-out in both games.
The first game score was 5-0.
Second game showed a 10-0 score
which sent the Buffaloes record to
1-5 in Greater Oregon League play.
Winning pitcher in the first game
was Byrd of Riverside and the los
ing pitcher was Sauceda for Mad
ras. Winner for the second game
was Pratt, Riverside. Losing pitcher
was Broker of Madras.
Beth Peterson. The whole team
had a pretty good day with some
fantastic plays on defense as Laura
Sahme had two double plays for
the day. One on a line drive and
throwing out the runner on first
base, the second was getting a
grounder up the third base line
tagging the runner and throwing
out the runner at first.
Susan Skavalan was the winning
pitcher in both games. Kris King
banged out a home run in the
second game to keep the rally lo
in g as the Buffs piled up the runston
the LaSalle team, which the game
was called after six innings due to
the 10 run rule.
In the first game the score was
7-9 and in the second game 6-18,
giving the Buffs the sweep for the
week-end.
The Buff girls traveled to Glad
stone for a make-up game which
was rained out earlier two times.
The results are not available at
press time for that game.
