Emerson Reservation relay winners mark 6:50.42 time The 3rd annual Reservation Relay was held Saturday May 5. The 58.2 mile course took runners from Kah-Nee-Ta and back. The overall winners of the race went to Kaiser Permanente from Portland, Oregon. They were also the first adult co-ed team to win. The members of that team were Irl Towle, Harold Polvika, Pam Han son and Betsy Leigh, their time was 6 hours, 50 minutes and 42 sec onds. Second place overall went to the Pi-Ume-Sha rodeo set for June 23, 24 Pi-Ume-Sha Rodeo is scheduled for June 23 and 24 at the Warm Springs Rodeo grounds on High way 3, 1 mile north of Warm Springs. The rodeo is sanctioned by the Western States Indian Rodeo Association. Lyle Spoonhuntcr, Todd Road Warriors ot Warm Springs, placed first in the adult mens di vision. The team members were Stan Kneeland, Leroy Allen, Jr., James Scott, Robert Macy, Jr; and Julian Smith. Their time was 6 hours, 52 minutes and 20 seconds. Sidwalter of Warm Springs placed third overall and first in the youth boys division. The team members were Jon Smith, Louie Smith, Edward Heath, Thurman Squiemphen, Jarrod Sampson and Richard Suppah. The team ran a time of 7 hours, 1 minute and 4 seconds. Lust N'Dust from Warm Springs placed fourth overall and second in the youth boys division. The 5-30's team of Warm Springs was fifth overall and se cond in the adult co-ed division. Sixth place overall was Tribes of Warm Springs and they placed second in the adult men's division. The members consisted of Calvin Poncho, Jr., Emerson Smith, Ted Barney, Leo Hellon and Andy Leonard. The time for them was 7 hours, 54 minutes and 5 seconds. The Red Heat team from Warm Springs placed seventh overall and third in the adult men's division. Members were; Don Courtney, Tyrone Ike, William Fallsdown, Carl Tewee and Romaine Miller. The time for Red Heat was 8 hours, 3 minutes and 15 seconds. The eighth team overall was the Northenders of Warm Springs who placed third in the adult co-ed division. Sandra Greene, Joe Tuckta, Jerry Sampson, Sheylene Greene and Jolene Boise. The time for the team was 9 hours, 35 min utes and 17 seconds. Recreation of Warm springs placed ninth overall and third in the youth boys division. Members of that team consisted of Otis Johnson, Gary Wahpat, Wamblee Wallulatum, Ramone Thomas, Michael Speakthunder, Aaron Greene and Keno Tuckta. They finished with a time of 1 0 hours, 1 7 minutes and 19 seconds. The final team in tenth place was Intertribal of Warm Springs who placed first in the adult women's division. June 2 media 103 Country & KPRB chal lenges all other media in a special race to benefit Loren Hogge, the driver injured in (he preview race April 14th at Madras Speedway. The benefit race will take place, June 2, 1990 at Madras Speedway in Madras, Oregon. Gates open at 5 pm and racing begins at 6 pm. The media rece will be the last event of the evening. The Chiefs Ericksons. ll?fe Swan sefs annual rodeo The annual All-Indian Rodeo is set for June 8, 9 and 10, 1990, at White Swan, with performances starting on Friday night at 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. This is a duel sanctioned affair with the 1RCA of Alberta, Canada. The W.S.I.R.A. events will include bareback, saddle bronc, bullriding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, cow milk ing and girls barrel racing. There is a $600.00 added to each event, with the entry fee of $50.00 per event. Books opening June 4, and closing June 5, the office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., call backs June 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be a long go short go and the top ten to compete on Sunday. There will be a limit in the bull riding which is 48. Charges are contestant fee of $7.00, and the electric eye for the barrel racers is $1.00. Calcutta, Sunday 10 a.m. with events Bull riding, saddle bronc, team roping, steer wrestling, Sr. Barrel racing and old timer break away roping. The special events: Old timers beakaway roping, 50 years by close of entry. The entry fee is $30.00 with $200.00 added. Jr. Barrel Race, 12 years and under by close races to benefit burn victim Loren Hogge to help defray ex penses. All cars entered must meet the minimum requirements as follows: 1. ) No glass to remain in car except windshield (optional). 2. ) 4 pt. roll bar. 3. ) Chrome trim and flammable interiors to be removed. 4. ) Bumpers welded to car body. 5. ) Reinforce right front wheel. 6. ) Angle iron (long enough to extend beyond both ends of door) Spilyay Tymoo of entries the entry fee is $ 1 5.00 and $100.00 added. The top four teams were as fol lows; Fourth place went to 4 winds, third place went to the Mill Team, the runner-up was awarded to Macy's and the Pendleton team took the tournament champion ship. The awards went to the follow ing players: Sportmanship went to Seekseequa. Best bat went to Min now Pond while best glove went to J. Ball. Most Valuable Player was given to Donnie Bagley all of the Pendleton team. All-stars were given to Bill Quempts, Minnow Pond and Frank Ball of Pendleton.
