Buff girls
The Way I Seen It"
The Madras White Buffalo girls
basketball team have split the scr
ies with Vale, the league and top
rated team in the state. They sound
ly trounced the Vale Vikings 69-53
to end up in second place in the
GOL final standing.
The win put a lot more confi
dence in the girls as they enter the
state play-offs in Salem. In the
game with the Vale Vikings, the
first quarter was pretty much on
the up and up for both teams as
they played pretty even. But then in
the second quarter the girls sort of
broke loose and ran away from the
visiting Vikings. Once they got
their jump it was all a Madras
game after that with Vale on the
catch-up side of things. Vale could
n't get anything going while the
Buff girls momentum went sky
high. The Vale Vikings were in a
situation where their reputation as
No. I rated team in the state put a
lot of pressure on them and the
Buffs with nothing to lose as far as
ranking is concerned made minc
emeat out of the Vikings. In the
second halt the Butts pretty much
had their own way of things. One
good move they made was using

topple state's No. 1
the bench which kept the team in
good fresh shape throughout the
game. This gave all the players
some time to catch their breath and
all contributed better as a team. As
many a good winning coaches say,
The key to a successful team is by
having a good bench, a team can't
win titles with just five players."
That is good advice for all kids to
learn that no one is so great that
they can't get along with out them.

The Madras White Buffalo boys
basketball team clobbered the Mac
Hi Pioneers in the final game of the
season by the score of 78-44.
The win was very important
which put them in a tie for second
place with the Nyssa Bulldogs. The
Buffs wasted no time jumping out
to a 26-14 first quarter lead and
were in no trouble after that. As the
first half ended the Buffs were sit
ting on a 42-23 lead. There was no
pitty shown in the third quarter as
the White Buffaloes out scored
sounded ending the game with the
final score Madras 54, Nyssa 53.
The win advances the Buffaloes on
