S pilyay T ymoo October 11,1985 P age 7 Parenting class helps in child rearing The State of Oregon Child ren’s Service D ivision (CSD ) is sponsoring a parenting class begin ning Thursday, O ctober 3,1985 at 6:0Q p,m. It will be held at the CSD office, 925 4th Street in M adras. Instructor for the class is CSD parent trainer BruCe Johnson. P articipants at the class will have the opportunity to decide on subject m atter to be taught. Those options include: Taking care of yourself, meeting your needs better so* you d o n ’t get too w orn out to be a good p ar ent; Anger management, par ents get mad at their kids and it can get in the way of happy fam ily life; Discipline, behavior man agement to increase or m aintain positive behaviors; decrease self- indulgent behaviors and aggres sive behaviors; Communication, how to talk to the children and get them to talk to you; Ages and stages, child development and w hat to expect from child ren at each age; Back in control, a special type of discipline de signed especially for parents who have trouble enforcing limits.
