New bail, bond procedures implemented
Effective M arch 25,1985, the
following procedures were imple-
Tnented regarding bail and bond­
in g for defendants appearing in
Tribal Court on criminal charges.
A fter arrest and prior to ar­
raignment, a defendant may post
<a cash bail in accordance with
the bail schedule (which was
revised 3 /1 5 /8 5 ). S ig n atu re
bonds before arraignm ent will
be in emergency situations Only
and will be up to the discretion
of the judge on duty.
If a defendant is unable to
post a cash bail before arraign­
ment, then the following proce­
dures will be followed:

guidelines require th at the com­
mittee be com prised of parents
of Indian children who are a t­
tending kindergarten through
twelfth grade. A high school
student is also elected to serve
on the board.

Lava lands opens
Lava Lands Visitor Inform a­

ties will be open seven days a
week from 8:30 a.m . to 6:00
