Davis saw limited action in the second half of the game but still managed to score 23 points also very strong under the boards as he managed to get 18 rebounds. It was a night for the entire team as Blinco substituted using his stro n g bench throughout most of the second half. This was a good showing from the entire team, a night things could not go wrong. At this point the Buffs are 2-0 in league play sharing the lead with always tough Burns Hilanders who are also 2-0, At the beginning of the season Nyssa was rated a team to watch and who knows things may get going for them. It is a big question because the season is still young and a lot o f if ’s could happen. It is always tough on the road for most teams and sometimes the weakest team could have a red- hot night and upset anyones apple cart. So far, for Madras it has been a coasting by Vale and Mac Hi and on January 21 the Buffs are on the road facing Grant Union at John Day and the following week should be the “biggie” of the league when the Bums Hilanders invade Madras on Saturday night January 29. This will probably determine the sole leader of the GOL league. Both Madras and Burns hold state ranking in the prep polls so far this season. The following week should be interesting as the Buffs travel to Nyssa for a show down with the Bulldogs on their home court on Friday February 4. The majority of, the remaining games for the Buffs are on the road. The remaining home games are with Burns on the 29 of January and on February 19 with Nyssa and March 4 with Grant Union. Holiday Tourney results Start o f the game shows Jerome Davis going high to get the tip from Mac Hi. Buffs went on to win 96- 57 in Greater Oregon League action.
