Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. On the agenda is a farewell speech and dance of the outgoing Miss Warm Springs, Lyda Scott, a few words from all' the former Miss Warm Springs’, dancing by all the little Miss Warm S p rin g s, ju d g in g o f the contestants and presentations. Santa’s address Christmas program Dec. 14 The annual Warm Springs elementary Christmas program will be taking place December 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Warm Springs Community Center. This year’s theme is “Customs of Christmas.” S e l e c t i o n s by g r a d e s kindergarten through six include son gs ab ou t the t r a d it io n s o f C h r istm a s including exchanging presents, Santa Claus, Jesus in the manner, trimming the tree and snow. Many of the songs will be accompanied by instruments the stu d en ts have been practicing on. Everyone is invited to enjoy the music o f the “Customs of Christmas.” Santa Claus is waiting for letters from the children of Warm Springs. He wants to know what they want for Christmas. And he’ll even answer their letters., The Warm Sprihgs post office will accept the letters w ith n o p o sta g e stam p necessary. The address for letters to Santa Claus is: PO Box C, North Pole. The newly constructed livestock fence which was erected on the west side of the West Hills housing area continues to be vandalized by unknown persons. The fence has been pulled down, pushed over, driven over five times since it was completed in early fall. “People fail to realize it is their money which has paid for the fence and will con tinue to pay for all repairs,” stated Tony Suppah, Game and Range field worker. Christmas tree cutting approved The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, in keeping with the spirit of Christmas, have consented to the cutting of Christmas trees by Warm Springs agency, Kah-Nee-Ta, PHS, Warm Springs school employees and Warm Springs churches! Cutting is limited to one tree per family and on tribal lands only. It is suggested that trees be cut in the area of the Trout Lake Road near the power line crossing. Trees should be cut away from the main road and close to the ground. All live branches should be removed from the stump. Topping of trees larger than 12 feet in height is not permitted. Trees should not be cut that do not have another tree growing within 12 feet of the tree to be cut. Information on tribal land location and road conditions may be obtained from the branch of Forestry.
