The keynote speaker will be John Chaves, Staff to the Senate Select Committee on Indian Affairs. The topic of his speech will be “Future Status of the CHR Program.” Attending the conference will be CH R’s from through out the nation. A variety, of topics concerning Indian people and health issues will be f e a t u r e d a t th is y e a r s conference. A health fair will be an added highlight for the p ro g ra m . Adeline Miller will team with Elizabeth Jones from Umatilla to present a Workshop on “Traditional Foods: Coordination with Nutrition Service.” A raffle will be held at the conference with gifts being donated by various CHR programs from the Northwest. Employees picnic raffle results Many people were winners in this year’s employee picnic raffle and some people were lucky enough to win not just once, but twicc and even three times. Thirty-three prizes were on the raffle, some of which w ere d o n a te d by lo c a l merchants, others purchased by the picnic committee. Listed below arc the results. Ernest Sconowah was the big winner by winning three prizes in the raffle. He won a rubber swim mask and snorkel, a $10 gift certificate donated bv O ls o n ’s a n d a $10 gift c e r t i f i c a t e d o n a te d by Hatfield’s. The next big winner was Margie Tuckta. Margie won a $25 gift certificate donated by Coast to Coast and two New York steak dinners donated by the Meet Market. Dena Smith was also a two- time winner. She won a five- piece cutlery set donated by Boise-Cascade and an Olympic folding fishing rod. Laura Brown also won two gifts, one a Canon electronic calculator and second, a Sears video arcade game. Another two- time winner was D orthca Cassaway. She won a coffee maker and a $10 gift certificate donated by A & W.
