ALL-AROUND
The Tygh Valley Rodeo
has become known for the
action packed All-Indian
Rodeo to many in the
N orthw est. Until several
years ago the bucking
animals used in the rodeos
were wild horses off the
W a rm S p r in g I n d ia n
Reservation but following
the outbreak of Equine
Infectious Anemia in April
of 1982 at the reservation the
use of these animals was
discontinued. At the present
tim e r o d e o liv e s to c k
contractors provided the
bucking stock.
For the rodeo people this
was the beginning of the
W e ste rn S ta te s In d ia n
Rodeo Association season,
for the many spectators it
marked a spring “ritual” of
enjoying the spring weather
and a rodeo.
