This is a non-competitive league and is just for fun. Participants must be age 18 or over they must be a high school graduate. This is a softball play as a way to encourage exercise and enable ladies a chance to get together for sport. A fee of $5.00 will be charged. It is to be submitted with the registration form before May 15. The fee goes towards T-shirts. Kiwanis sets 10 000 meter race The Kiwanis Club of Sisters if sponsoring the 3rd annual 10,000 meter foot race and a th re e -m ile fu n ru n on Saturday, June 12 during the Sisters Rodeo weekend. The race will begin at 11:00 a m . a t th e c o r n e r of Washington and Elm streets across from the Sisters Fire Hall. Registration fee is $7.00 and T-shirts will be awarded to all registrants. You can pick up race forms at most local sporting goods stores in Central Oregon and local merchants in Sisters or call Warren Urda at 549-2011 for information. All proceeds will go to various Kiwanis community and' youth projects. A local girl’s basketball team under the name of “Morning Star,” placed second in a tournament held in Reno, Nevada, recently. The 19 and under tournament drew teams from California, Utah, Oregon and Nevada. Reno, the host team, won the to u r n a m e n t b e a tin g the determined Warm Springs girls in the finals. The local team consisted of Lorraine Suppah, Joyce Suppah, Lana Shike, Anita Bryant, Joni Wallulatum and Cinda Heath. The team was coached by Enos Herkshan with assistant Loren Suppah. The team contributed two All-stars to the tournament team and they were Lorraine Suppah and Lana Shike. The girls brought home trophies for second place and the traveling tr o p h y. T eam m em b ers boasted their No. 1 fan, Margaret Suppah, and other team relatives who ,a)sQ ipade. the trip to Reno.
