Porterhouse No. 2 placed 18th with Lori Smith, Joyce Ortiz, Winnie Miller, Lydia Crane and Vernita Harvey. There were 22 teams in the league here and around the Central Oregon area covering c itie s su ch as M a d ra s , Prineville and Redmond. Spilyay Tymoo photo by Shewcsyk Two local ladies high rollin’ champs Two local ladies doubles teams captured the first and second place titles in the 22nd Invitational Tournament of Champions held at Milwaukie, Oregon. Paulette Wplfe and Mariann Oneroad, members of The Meet Market bowling team, walked off with first place in ladies, doubles, and set a new tournament high-score record in the event with a total of 1671. Second place winners in the event were Joni David and Arlene David, members of Macy’s team, with a series total Warm Springs ran into some tough losses against Pendleton and lost 8-5 in White Swan’s 16-team Men’s Slow Pitch Softball tournament. Manager Tony Suppah attributed the loss to two error? which put them out of the tournament for good. P ort Angeles won the to u rn e y w ith O k an ag o n , Washington, placing second. Pendleton and White Swan was playing for third and fourth and it’s uncertain who won the game. According to Suppah, “A lot o f g o o d t e a m s ” w e re represented at the J u n e '6-7 4-H; Carla Dumbe and Alice Wheeler both from L a p w a i; Becky Rhoan W.S.C.C. and Joni Wallulatum 4-H. Lori Case of Chiloquin was named the most valuable player. Lana Shike was chosen the most inspirational player.
