April 2 is the date set for the American Heritage Tour fund raising jamboree to be held at the Community Center. In three separate games the A m erican H eritag e T o u r students will play the Mamas, the Papas and the Grandpas. Members of the American Heritage Tour team include: Karla Bagley, Jewell VanPelt, Missy Still, Cyril Jim, Bobby- Jo Berry, Allie Smith, Jamie Smith, Polly Greene and Cheryl Sutterlee. P la y i n g a g a i n s t th e American Heritage team will be such worthy opponents as Linda Bagley, Eliza Hicks, captain of the Mamas, Chris and Vicky Still, captain Wilfred Jim playing lor the Papas, Geraldine Jim, Nola Adams, George Speakthunder, Jello and Campy Smith, and Fabian and June Sutterlee and the referees will be Nita Wesley and Sammy Colwash. Verbena (Beans) Greene is one of the coaches and Delson Suppah is. the coach for the Grandpas. The A m erican H eritage Tour is a six-week guided tour through historical sites which have contributed to American history. The students will leave in June when school is dismissed for the year. Each of the nine students must have $1,200 for basic expenses and travel. Eliza Hicks, who is a parent helping to raise funds says, “We have raised about $1,000 our goal is $5,000. The C onfederated Tribes have contributed $400.00 from the scholarship fund. Now it is up to the parents and the students.” Awards will be given after the game for sportsmanship, to the all-stars, and to members of the teams. There will be a prize for Mr. and Mrs. Hustler. Door prizes donated by the parents will also be a part of the festivities. •Funds from this jamboree will be used to send nine Warm Springs youths on a tour they will treasure and never forget. And these games may be an experience you will never forget. That date, again, is April 2, 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Women: Alice Hqnder, Oregon City, Oregon, 40:47:7; Susan Estep, 24, Sisters, Oregon 48:08:7; Kathy Peasley, 27 McMinnville, Oregon 49:34:9 Agatha Johnson Smith Warm Springs and two sisters, Louise Delrose of Troutdale and Verna Jackson of Warm Springs. Four grandchildren and one great-grand child also survive. The dressing ceremony was held at Evergreen Chapel in March 22 March 24 Howlak Tichum Agatha Johnson Smith, born April 15, 1924 in Warm Springs, died March 18,1980 at her home in Madras. Survivors are her husband, Archie Smith, and a daughter, Bonnie Skaarup of Burlington, Washington. Also surviving are brother, Fred Johnson of Community Calendar Madras by Stella McKinley on March 20, 1980. Her body was then transferred to the Warm Springs Agency Longhouse for o v e rn ig h t S e v e n -D ru m services. Burial was March 21, 1980 a t th e S im n a s h o Cemetery.
