Spilyay Tymoo December 21, 1979 Page 5 Holiday Tournament Queen Candidates Trudee Anne Clements, 17, attends Madras High School and she is a senior. She likes English and A cape Ila. Trudee’s parents are Rudy and Anna Clements. She likes (Indian) dancing and riding horses, Julie Seelatsee, 17, lives with her grandmother Ellen Heath in West Hills. Her father is Frank D. Seelatsee. She is a senior at Madras High School and her favorite subjects are typing, science and math. She likes to play volleyball and enjoys traveling, bead working and reading. Five girls hoping to be crowned queen of Warm Springs Nation’s 21st Annual Holiday Basketball Tourna ment are selling one-session and season tic k e ts. The candidate with the most ticket sales will be crowned queen of th e 1 2 -te a m a l l - I n d i a n to u r n a m e n t to be held D ecem ber 26-29 a t the Community Center. The five queen candidates are Debbie Q uinn, Lois Estimo, Kimiko Danzuka, Trudee Clements and Julie Seelatsee. After the tickets sales are in and totalled, each candidate Lois Kay Estimo, is the daughter of Tom Estimo of Yakima and Della Estimo of Warm Springs. She is a senior and attends Madras High School. Math and chemistry are her favorite subjects. ,8-year old Lois says she enjoys basketball, volleyball, horses, and softball. In the future, Lois would like to be a veterinarian, studying at Eastern Oregon State College in LaGrande and later at Oregon State University. will receive 10 percent of their ticket sales. Each candidate will also receive a gift, a silver cup trophy, and an outfit for the tournament. On top of that, they will be able to attend a concert of their choice and spend a night at the Portland Hilton Hotel. The queen will receive a banner, crown and a bouquet of roses. T e a m s t h a t w ill be competing for the champion ship jackets and trophies are: Wolfe Point, Montana; the Colville Tribe; Nez Perce Indians of Lapwai; Wind River (Fort Washakie), Wyoming; Debbie Quinn, 19, is the daughter of Joyce Quinn. She is a senior and attends the Warm Springs Career Exploration Program. She works part-time in the printing department. Her future plans include attending either P ortland B u sin e ss C o lle g e o r a S a c r a m e n to , C a lif o r n ia college, pursuing a career in either fashion photography or fashion display. Traveling, basketball and sewing garments are among her hobbies. Kimiko Danzuka, 17 goes to Madras High School where she's in the 12th grade. She plans to go on to college and her interests are in the field of d a ta pro cessin g and psychology. Kimiko likes to ride horses and play basketball and volleyball. Her parents are George and Roberta Danzuka. Reno, Nevada; San Jose, C a lif o r n ia ; D avis S u n s, California; Satus (Elimination Tournament winners); and the Warm Springs Magpies (the host team). Other teams that haven’t confirmed they’ll be here yet are: an Oklahoma team; Kyle, South Dakota; and Vermillion, South Dakota; last year’s Holiday-Tournament winners.. This is the first time that 12 teams will be competing in the Holiday Tournament. Compe tition will be. close with two more teams being added.
