(Pg 6, See. 2) Capital Journal, Salem, Ore., Tuef., May 7, 19571 Cllicf Errol Flynn Not Pulling Many Punches in Writing Memoirs By ALINE MOSBY United Presa Hollywood Writer MEXICO CITY (UP)-A secret bomb for Hollywood is being man ufactured among the tortillas and tequila here. Errol Flynn is writ ing his memoirs wives, love af fairs, foreign intrigue and all. Flynn is one celluloid idol whose life story has been as swashbuck ling and dramatic offscreen as on. Realizing this could be a gold mine, a publisher has induced Flynn to write about his colorful life, Including his adventures on chips, his intrigue in the Spanish Aunt Is Slain By Farm Boy WAYNE, W. Va. l - Fifteen-year-old Buddy Claxton told police he heard a noise outside his farm home Sunday night, picked up a rifle and queried "who's there?" There was no answer, he said. He heard a door slam on the family's parked car. lie fired. His aunt, Mrs. Anna Pauline Hysell, fell dead. She couldn't have heard her nephew's query or reply. She was a deaf mule. State Police Cpl. 0. S. Ncely (aid he is going to investigate some more while the nephew is held In the juvenile section of the county jail. '"There are some peculiar cir cumstances in the case," the corporal said without elaborating. Mrs. Hysell, a divorcee, lived with her mother, her two children and the nephew on a farm near the Kentucky border. Pepsi Goes to Japan TOKYO uei Pepsi-Coin, an American soft drink, soon will be (old in Japan on a limited basis, an official of the 'Agriculture and Forestry Ministry said Monday. He said about $20,000 worth of Pepsi-Cola syrup will he available at selected hotels, airports and golf links. Civil War, his rise as a film star and his unequalcd off-stage repu tation as a casanova that resulted in two rape trials. "I won't be pulling too many punches," promised the man of letters as he rested from his la bors (with tequila in one hand and a cigarette in the other) over his dictating machine into which he reminisces during the filming here of "The Sun Also Ilises." PASSING THE HAT "I can hear the quaking of the knees now," said Flynn. "They're passing the hat around just so I won't drop their names in my bonk. "How do I go about getting this book banned in Boston? What I need now is a staff of lawyers." Flynn at first cautiously planned to finish his book with events around 1940 "when J felt that hand clamped on my shoulder," his ar rest on rape charges. "The publisher," said Flynn, "viewed this suggestion with dis may. He wants the rape trials in cludedand I could write plenty about the truth of that. But if I leave Ihnt out I could end my book with the notice to tune in for the next volume. PICTURES SHELF "I can see my shelf now 'The Collected Works of Errol Flynn.' " Flynn already has dictated 40,- 000 words of his book, including 'plenty about my life with Tiger Lil" his first wife, I.ili Damita. He also will dwell on his early days at Warner Studio when the con tract list included such personali ties as Humphrey Bogart, John Garfield, Bcttc Davis and Olivia Do llavilland. Unlike Diana Barrymorc and other recent autobingraphcrs, Flynn claims he's writing his book with no help from a collaborator. The debonair actor hns two pub lished books to his credit. What the title of his memoirs will be, Flynn hasn't decided. "I'm trying to think of an :cc clesiaslical title because I hope this will be a work of somo merit," Flynn said.
