All friends of the couple are invited through the press to call between 4 and 8 o'clock, no in vitations of any sort having been issued for the event, other than the one through' the press. It will be the first opportunity for many friends to greet the McKays since the coup'e returned to their home here from Washington, D.C. The open house will be given at the home of the McKays' son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hadley, on Cross street with the other son-hi-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lester D. Green, as co-hosts. Members of Mrs. McKay's bridge club will DAR Program A film with the challenging title, "The Whites of Their Eyes," will be shown at the national de fense program of Chomckcta Chapter. Daughters of the American Revolution, at its regular meeting Saturday, April 5. The group will meet in the fac ulty lounge at Oregon College of Education at Monmouth. Presenting the film will be Captain George Wil son of the U.S. Army Reserve Officers Training Corps. He will speak also on the subject, "The Unified Military Program." Women's council of St. Paul's Episcopal church is meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the rector's study. A representative from each women's or ganization of the church will attend the meeting. Gov. Robert D. Holmes, along with the gov ernors of all other states in the nation, will be presented with a gavel next week calling atten tion to World Jewish Child's Day on April 7. Mrs. Stanley Friedman, president of the Salem unit of Hadassah, the women's Jewish Zionist or ganization, announces the presentation to the Ore gon governor would be made at 10 a.m. Wednes day at the Capitol. The gavel will be presented on behalf of Youth Aliya, the Hadassah agency which moves refugee children to Israel and provides them with food, housing and medical care. Children cared for by this agency are orphans or come from families who are unable to accompany them to Israel. The Northwest region conference of Hadassah will be here May 5, 6 and 7 with Mrs. Daniel Gassner, Salem, as conference chairman. Representatives of all of the 77 clubs in the state of Oregon will attend, and more than 300 members are expected. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and con tinue until the meeting convenes at 10:30 a.m. There will be a coffee hour to accommodate the out-of-tows guests, many of whom drive long dis at her home, followed by a meeting. The members of the six Salem clubs will be hostesses, with Downtown Salem Club in charge of program planning and food; West Salem, regis tration and the coffee hour; South Salem, decora tions; Hollywood, corsages and help with the cof fee; East Salem, reservations; and Keirer, favors and publicity. Plans for the summer institute conducted each year at the State School for the Blind in Salem, will be made. Dates for 'the school will be June S-9 this year. Plans will be announced for the federation meeting in Salem in April with Salem Garden Club and South Hills Garden Club as host groups. In the morning, Mrs. Jack Henningsen will con duct the regular class in flower making with rib bon, and the flower arrangements class will be led by Mrs. John Graham, Both classes, for mem bers, begin at 10 a.m. For the afternoon meeting, Mrs. Charles Col will arrange the "table of the moiith." A program wai presented by Mcsdames Laura Sharp, Vera Neu baur and Franciel Kimble. Mesdames Grace Ogle, Coral McNeill and Edith Balou were in charge of the refreshments. A wedding for next Saturday afternoon will be that of Miss Patricia Dickman and A-2c WlUard F. Allman, both of Sllverton. The ceremony will be at 4 o'clock in the afternoon in the First Chris tian church in Silverton with the Rev. I. M. Nelson and the Rev. Gerald Sawyer officiating. , Mrs. Harold Dlckmann is to be matron of honor for her sister-in-law. Mrs. Jack Krater, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Thurman Krater and Misi Marie Barker are to be bridesmaids. Jack Krater, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, will be best man. Ushers will he Thurman Krater, Russell Allman, brother of the bride, Robert Vet ter, Dale Moore and Henry Madras. The reception following also will be at the church.
