The measure, if approved by the legislature, would be submitted to a vote of the people at the general election in November, 1958. Previous Law Invalid -The slate supreme court invali dated a previous law, permitting the use of circuit judges on the supreme court, holding that such judges had not been elected to the simremc court and therefore their appointment was unconsti tut'onal. TVrc has been no challenge as to the use of attorneys as circuit judges pro tempore, but leading attorneys fear that should the law permitting such appointments be chnV-nned, it might be deel -cd unconstitutional. For that reason, Sen. Don Hus band. IR.-' who is handling the preparatici of the proposed amendment, and other attorneys who will join him in the introduc tion of the measure, feci that the amendment is necessary to remove all doubts of its constitutionality. Economics Seen Sen. Husband said Tuesday that the proposed amendment would bring about economics in the oper ation of the courts, citing the fact that creation of an additional judgeship calls for an initial appro priation of approximately $30,000.
