Grand Jurors In Marie Case Can't Agree on Whether Indictment Would Aid Arrests LOS ANGELES un The 195? Los Angeles Lounty grand jury, held over to consider actress Marie (The Body) McDonald's story of being kidnaped, has ad journed without returning indict ments in the matter. The jury retired yesterday after f three-day hearing in which Marie twice was called to testify. Foreman Warren Thorne said many of the jurors believe a ser ious crime may have been com mitted, but '"the necessary 12 could not aerce that an indict. nient would advance the appre hension and conviction of those responsible." The jury urged continued police work in the case. Marie had expressed hope ear lier that John Doe indictments would be returned. Jerry Giesler, the actress' law yer, said private investigators would continue the search, and that his client intends to increase the present $5,000 reward for her abductors. He added: "The jury's statement clearly demonstrates that the majority is satisfied that something happened &t her home Jan. 3. I am sure Chief (William H.) Parker can't get too much satisfaction from the jury's statement." Marie told newsmen she "had feeling it was a sincere jury trying to get at the facts, but the ponce nave none tneir nest to nrove mv Ktnrv a hnav " Rho that after three months she will increase the reward to $10,000. "We are not through with this case." was Chief Parker com ment on the grand jury's statement. 11 Emm Chou, Zhukov Land in India An Hour Apart NEW DELHI Wi Red Chinese Premier Chou En-lai and Soviet Defense Minister Georgi Zhukov arrived in New Delhi an hour (part today. Prime Minister Nehru came to the airport to receive Chou infor mally but, as is his custom with visitors of lesser rank, was not en hand to greet Zhukov. Zhukov is on an 18-day good will mission. Chou, heading home ward from Moscow, Warsaw, Bud apest and Afghanistan, is having his third visit with Nehru in as many months. The Chinese Premier leaves tarlier tomorrow to visit Nepal. Zhukov came by Soviet jetliner which brought him from Moscow and Tashkent. The welcoming party was headed by Defense Min ister K. N. Katju. Zhukov's reception had no trim mings beyond the requirements of protocol. The Indian government had made no effort to get a crowd out, and Zhukov drove into town almost unnoticed. Communist sources In New Del hi say Zhukov is here to explain Soviet policy in Hungary and case Asian criticism. But Indians seem to be playing down the political 'implications of his visit. Indian officials say he is here to repre sent the Kremlin at the Republic Day ceremonies Saturday and to tour Indian military installations. Jail Prisoners Riot Over Food LAREDO, Tex. Wi Five prison ers in the Webb County Jail riot ed last night and it took some 20 police officers and eight firemen to quiet them. Chief Deputy Sheriff Porfirio Flores said the prisoners started a demonstration when jailers took them their supper in a tank cell on the third floor. Flores did not give a reason ' for the riot. He said the supper consisted of fried eggs, fried beans, coffee, cream and sugar. He said the prisoners armed themselves with sharpened broom sticks which they jabbed at the jailers. Two of the prisoners slashed their legs with razor blades, he said. Additional police rushed to the downtown jail. Eight firemen were summoned to spray the pris oners with a high pressure hose. When that failed, officers fired j tear gas into the cells. Flores said that quelled the men. IRA Dynamiters Wreck 2 Bridge BELFAST, Northern Ireland Dynamiters of the outlawed Irish Republican Army today blew up two bridges over the Black water River near Anughnacloy, in County Tyrone. .
