It will also provide lime to add corpuscles, the number of which were depicted in many cases during yesterday's campus blood drive. Tomorrow, four Willamette de- haters will travel to Pullman, Wash., to participate in the annual Columbia Valley debate tourna ment at Washington State college. Pat Farley and t.ewis Bright, who lied for second place at the Pacific Lutheran college tournament, and Don Laws and Louis Hiscl will be the representatives. Approximately 60 students par ticipated in the first leadership training conference at Willamette. Workshop groups discussed par ticular problems and a general as sembly brought the conclusions to gether. Typed reports of this con ference will be compiled for future reference. The student council learned that the jazz concert by Shorty Rogers originally set for November 27, has been poslponed A tenlative date has been set for early in December. House Dances Four house dances with a wide variety in theme were given dur ing the last weekend. The women of Doncy and Lausanne halls gave Iheir semi-formal functions Friday night. "Autumn in New, York" prevailed at Doncy and a black and gold scheme of bare branches, street lights, and park benches against a skyline of buildings con stituted the decorations. Pink punch and cloud cookies were served as Lausanne's dining room became a "Heaven on Earth." It was decorated with heavenly elements and pans of dry ice caused clouds to drift to the center of the room. The men of Beta Thela Pi and their dates arrived at their tra ditional "Whatzit" dance Saturday night dressed in as completely bad taste as possible and discovered what wns "Behind the Green Door." This wns quite a contrast In the Sweetheart Hall of Sigma Chi at which Jan Hansen was named the new Sweetheart of the fraternity. The t-'mn hotel was the scene of tlivTial dance, and a large blue f .rl adorned with pictures of the sweetheart court was the center of the decor. MR. AND MRS, George E. CDA Initiation Set For Sunday, Dec. 2 STAYTON (Snecial)-At the re cent meeting of Court Queen o rcacc. Catholic Daughters of America, last week, it was announ ced that initiation will be Sunday, December 2, at St. Mary's school, and' candidates were voted on. It was decided that the Sisters could borrow books -from, the CDA lib rary for use in ihe school rooms. For the Christmas fund, the group will give to the Veterans hospital. Individual gifts will be given to the members of Ihe Ma rian home. It was suggested that each member bring a small gift and some wrapping paper to the December meeting. Mrs. Margaret Kintz and Mrs. Ernest Dozler are co-chairmen for a Christmas food shower for Ihe Sisters. The next meeting will he a Christmas party with a gift ex change and no-host dinner. The junior counsellors met re cently at the home of Mrs. Ed Welter. The new counsellor, Mrs. Joe Samek, who took over troop St. Francis from Mrs. John Mur phy, was one of the visitors. The group voted to have the juniors decorate a window in a store and to decorate the tree for the Mar ian home.
