Harry K. Hoseler, Salem, is announcing her engage ment lo Michael L. Ruff, son of Mrs. Dale Under., Fairfield. 111. No dale is set for the wedding. Miss Roseler attended Salem schools and is now employed in San Francisco, with the Prudential In surance company. Mr- Ruff attend ed schools in Illinois, and is now servinj in the Navy, stationed on the USS General AE Anderson. Miss Roscler is in Salem for the Christmas holidays, at the home of her parents. Christmas Event at White Shrine Meeting Christmas ceremonial for Wil lamette Shrine, No. 2, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, was Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs, Ron Dicken of Molalla, Mr. and Mrs. Kugene Walper, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stenback, Mr, and Mrs. Ted Morris. the door to welcome guests was a small Christmas tree with minia ture ornaments ... In the en trance hall, a small Christmas tree, and the large family tree, aglow with light's and ornaments, standing in lis accustomed corner near the window in the front room . . . Silvered greens featured the decor in the second i'ving room and especially effective was the mantel . . . Above were silvered cedar boughs and across the man tel more of the silvered greens, a crystal madonna standing in the center, a single vigil light burning in front a very simple but striking arrangement ... At either end of the mantel were tall lighted can dles and on the end table in front: of the fireplace, silvered pine ! boughs, nestled among them a large candle in an heirloom gob let (the wedding goblet of Mrs. Gragg's mother) . , . Around the door leading to the dining roonv was a garland of greens, caught j at each corner at the top with bright ornaments arranged in the form of a cluster of grapes . . , Only candlelight was used in the dining room . . .
