GLENN PIRTLE ELECTED today as the new state president of Oregon Federation of Business and Professional Women's clubs at the convention in Salem was Mrs. Glenn Pirtle, above, of Eugene, Installation takes place tonight at the formal banquet of the convention. OSC Dinner Annual no-host dinner sponsored by Ore gon State College Mothers club is to be Monday night at 6:30 o'clock at the YWCA. Invitation is extended to all interested par ents, particularly to parents of prospective students. Dr. A. L. Strand, president of OSC, and Mrs. Strand will be guests, as will Dean Dan Poling of the college and Mrs. Victor Carlson of Lebanon, state president of the OSC Mothers clubs. New officers will be installed for the local Mothers club, including Mrs. John Terhune as president; Mrs. Bjarne Ericksen, vice president; Mrs. Ellsworth Ricketts, re cording secretary; Mrs. Archie Elliott, Sr., treasurer; Mrs. Robert Radcliff, correspond ing secretary. "Springtime in the South," is the theme for the mother-daughter banquet of the First Evangelical United Brethren church to be Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the lower church auditorium. All women of the church and friends are invited to attend and bring their mother or daughter. Mrs. Jack Steiger is general chairman of the banquet with Mrs. J. A. Kitzke as toastmistress for the evening. A variety program will be presented in a minstrel skit. Included will be a Dixieland band of junior age boys and Dick Perrin as solo ist. Devotions will be given by Mrs. Ralph Eyre. Dinner will be served by the men of the church. Mrs. Warren Pahl heads the committee in charge of the menu and food. Sublimity A bride last Saturday, May 14, at St. Boniface Catholic church, was Miss Darlene Marie Kintz, daughter of Mrs. Myles Kintz, and the late Mr. Kintz. She was wed to Herman Louis Hendricks, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Hendricks, Sublimity. The Rev. Joseph Schubring of ficiated at the service at 10 a.m. Apple blossoms and Dutch irises decor ated the altar, with blue and white satin bows and white bells at alternate pews. The St. Boniface high school choir sang, with Miss Geraldine Hcuberger accompan ist. Miss Margaret Laux played the proces sional and recessional marches. The bride was esc.irtcd to the altar by her brother, Errol Kintz. Her dress was of nylon tulle and imported Chantilly lace over satin. The bodice had scalloped lace and tulle with iridescent sequins. Ruffled tiers of nvlon tulle and tiers of lace were around the bottom of the bouffant skirt The fingertip veil of pure silk illusion fell from a headpiece of nylon tulle ruffles edged with princess lace and was sprin kled with Stardust pearls. The bride's bou quet was of stephanotis and lilies of the valley, centered with a white orchid. The bride wore a gold cross worn by her moth er at her first communion. Mrs. Wilfred F. Ditter. sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and brides maids were Miss Lovelle Kintz, niece of the bride, Mrs. Gerald Roberts, Miss Ger aldine Hartmann and Miss Sharon Lam brecht, cousin of the bride. They were dressed identically in white over blue dresses, with a lacy rose pattern of net on the bedices halfway down the blue nylon tulle skirts. They all carried rosaries of stephanotis, the honor attendant's in blue with white and the bridesmaids', white with blue, all with large gold crosses. Best man was Leonard Hendricks, broth er of the bridegroom. Ushers were Fran cis Hendricks and Cletus Hendricks, both brothers of the bridegroom, Eugene Laux, Frederick Ripp and Vincent Etzel. Altar boys were Allen Hendricks, broth er of the bridegroom, Jackie Ditter, Eu gene Hendricks and Kenneth Lambrccht. The bride's molher wore a teal blue suit dress with beige accessories vand cor sage of pink cymhidium orchids. The bridegroom's mother wore a charcoal gray suit with white and black accessories and a corsage of pink cymbidium orchids. Following the service, the couple went to the side altar, and while the choir sang "Mother at Thy Feet We're Kneeling," the bride placed a rosary of white stephanotis at the feet of the Blessed Mother statue. A reception was given in the parish hall of the church. Blue and white were used in the decorations. The table was covered with an ice blue cloth with white net flounce and blue and white satin bows and white bells, and it was centered with the bride's cake. Cutting the cake was Mrs. Carl Podrabsky, godmother and aunt of the bride. Pouring were Mrs. Harold Wolf, sis ter of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Errol Kintz. Others assisting were Mrs. Margaret Kintz. Mrs. Sim Etzel. Miss Isabell Ditter, Mrs. Phillip Albus, Mrs. Leland Manning, Lvons, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Delbert J. Ditter, Miss Kathy Hartmann and Miss Jeannette Kintz. Mrs. J. Gamma Gamma chapter of Epsilon Sig ma Alpha is to be entertained Monday night at the home of Mrs. Thomas Adolph son with Mrs. Orville Schultze as co-hostess. Gamma Gamma ' gave a rush party Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. George Steinmann. The theme was a "hobo party'' in honor of prospective members from Albany where a chapter is being or ganized. A prize was given and Mrs. Rob ert Sandstrom received a prize for the fun niest costume. Several games were played and each "hobo" received a bundle of small gifts attatched to a yardstick. Refreshments were served. Salem friends will be saying farewells soon to Mr. and Mrs. E. Kenneth Jackson and children, Barbara, Tommy and Jane, the family moving in mid-June to Pendle ton. The Jacksons will go into ranching. They came to Salem from The Dalles. City Fire Chief Ellsworth Smith is to be guest speaker for the luncheon meeting of Salem Soroptimist club next Wednesday noon at the Golden Pheasant. He will re port on. one of the recent atomic explosions in Nevada and will show pictures, James W. Tindall Is the new president for Bonheur Dance club, the group naming new officers at its party last evening. Ho succeeds Sam Patrick in the office. Fred Halvarson is the new vice president and George Malstrom is secretary-treasurer for the new year. The final dance of the season was last evening, a no-host supper preceding the business session and dance. Cosmis club is not staging a dance in May because of the Memorial Weekend holiday, the next party to be June 25. On June 4, Mrs. Smith will entertain at her annual luncheon for wives of members of the university board of trustees; and on the evening of June 5, Dr. and Mrs. Smith will entertain at a buffet following com mencement, the supper to be for commence ment dignitaries. Mrs. Pirtle, who was born in Rapid City, South Pakota, Is a graduate of Oregon Col lee of Kducation at Monmouth and re ceived a H.S, detree from University of Oregon in 1041. Organizations with which Mrs. Pirtle is affiliated in Kugene are Order of Eastern Star, Zonta club, Armistad club, Lane County Social Worker club, Oregon Con ference of Social Workers, American As sociation of University Women, and League of Women Voters. She is a past president of both .onta and Armistad. She has serv ed for the past year as first vice nresMent of the Oregon Federation of BPW clubs and is a former state chairman of public affairs.
