This is the amount budgeted by President Elsenhower and an in crease of W.614.J32 over the amount appropriated for the year ending June 30. In its report to the House, the committee said the increase would permit the Indian Bureau to place an additional 5,100 Indian children in school, provide foster home care for an additional 369 and re locate an additional 2,500 off reser vations. "It is anticipated that substani tially all Indian children in the continental United States who are eligible and willing to avail them selves of schooling will be in school during the 1956 fiscal year," the committee said. The annual Interior Department approprialons bill authorizes the secretary of the Interior to buy eight acres within the Klamath reservation in Oregon, for con struction of two pumping plants an an equalizing basin for the Modoc Point Indian irrigation system. They are Sen. Dworshak and Welker and Rep. Budge, all Re publicans.
