Mushroom Sauce

4 lamb ihanki
Z Salt and pepper
4 tablespoons bacon drippings

; 1 onion, thinly sliced
114 cups of white table wine
! 1 can condensed cream of
" mushroom soup
' Dust lamb shanks with salt

and brown slowly on all sides.

this Cheese Rice Pudding.
Cheese Bice Pudding
1V4 quart baking dish, 4-5 serv
ings, 3S0 oven, 40 minutes. ,
Hi cups (5-ounce package)
packaged pre-cooked rice
V4 pound Cheddar cheese, grat
ed f about 3 cups loosely
packed)
Vi cup thinly sliced onion
1 tablespoon butter or
margarine
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 can condensed tomato soup
1 can water (use soup can tu
measure)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire

V4 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
Butter a 1V4 quart baking dish
Spread one-half the packaged pre
cooked rice in even layer on bot
tom. Cover with one-half the
grated cheese. Saute onion in
butter until lightly browned.
Spread over the cheese layer and
cover with remaining rice. Com
bine egg yolks, tomato soup,
water, Worcestershire sauce, and

Macaroni Mexican
2 tablespoons fat
1 medium size onion, chopped

1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 cups canned tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

S quarts boiling water
8 ounces elbow macaroni (2 cups)
In skillet, melt fat over low
heat. Add onion and celery, saute
for 5 minutes. Add beef and cook
uncovered until meat browns. Add
1 teaspoon salt and chili powder:
mix well. Stir in tomatoes. Cover
and cook over low heat 30 minutes
stiring occasionally. Add parsley
and cook uncovered 10 minutes
longer. Meanwhile add 1 table
spoon salt to rapidly boiling water.
Gradually add macaroni so that
water continues to boil. Cook un
covered, stiring occasionally, until
tender. Drain in colander. Place
cooked macaroni on a large plat
ter; pour meat sauce in center.

direction; drain in colander.

into 1 inch pieces. In large skillet,
pan-fry bacon until crisp and light
brown. Remove bacon. Pour off

medium size onions sliced thin and
cook over low heat for S minutes.
Add 2 cups canned tomatoes, 1 6
ounce can tomato paste, Vi cup
chopped parsley. 2 teaspoons salt,
freshly ground pepper; mix thor
oughly. Cover, cook over low heat
15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and add 1 cup
grated Cheddar cheese and bacon;
stir until cheese is melted. Pour
sauce over cooked spaghetti or
