Speaker for the evening was Dr. Jonas J. Jonasson from Lin field college, with the subject, "Men to Match My Mountains". Processional and Recessional numbers were played by the Mill City high school band direct ed by Earl Loucks. The invocation was. given by Rev. Noble Streeter; welcome by the senior class president, Elton Gregory; salutatory address by Donna Bengston; girls' chorus, "Lift Thine Eyes to the Moun tains" and "America the Beau tiful"; valedictory address, Rich ard Anderson; presentation of awards by Principal Howard Means; a scholarship to Linfield college for one year and also one to Oregon State college were awarded to Richard Anderson; one year scholarship to Oregon College of Education was award ed to . Richard Verbeck; the greatly coveted Ethel Hickey Award was given to Phyllis Pro vost; Sharon Gallagher and Richard Verbeck both received an award from the Danforth Foundation: presentation of di plomas to the 17 graduates was by Russell Kelly, chairman of the board of edueation; the ben ediction was given by Rev. Noble Streeter. Following the commencement program, a reception for the graduates, their friends and rel atives was held in the high school recreation room.
