May soybeans closed with a very wide spread of 3.67 to 3.76, a ' gain of 1 to 10 cents from Tues- day's finish. July beans finished 8 V, to 8 higher. ' - Gains in the rails extended to around 2 points but elsewhere were small. Losses were ratner widespread but largely minor. Trading dwindled to au esti mated 2,100,000 shares from Tues day's 2,250,000 shares when the market was a shade higher. Chicago Livestock CHICAGO !fl Producers con tinued to marttet hogs in quite heavy volume Wednesday und prices on both butchers and sows were steady to 25 cents lower. Sal able receipts at 11.000 head were 3,000 above expectations. The bulk of choice 180 to 230 pound butchers were sold at $27.25 to $28.00, although a few loads and lots commanded $28.25, the top Buyers wanted . 24o" to 270 pound butchers at $20.00 to $27.00 and sows at $20.00 to $23.75. Salable cattle receipts totaled 12,000. Steers moved at steady to weak-prices in a slow trade .A load of average prime to high prime types scored the top at $28.75. Most choice to low prime steers were purchased at $22.75 to $26.25. Cows were steady to strong, top ping at $16.00, while bulls held fully steady at $15.50 to $17.50 for utility and commercial.. . Spring lambs and slaughter sheep moved at steady quotations. Load lots of good and choice No. 1 skin shorn lambs were bought at $22.75 to $23.00. Salable receipts totaled 1,000 Mid Willamette Obituaries Jacqueline Ines Cook MOUNT ANGEL' Funeral services will be held Friday morning, May 21, lor Mrs. Jac queline Ines Cook, 31, who died unexpectedly in a Portland hos pital, Monday evening, May 17. She entered the hospital Sunday. She was the wife of Don Cook, who operates a beauty shop in Silverton. A Requiem High Mass will be offered at 8:15 o'clock Friday monvna in St. Mary's Catholic church. Acting as honor guards will be Catholic Daughters ol America, and the St. Ann's Altar Society, of which the deceased was a member. . 1 Mrs. uook was Dorn jacquenne Ines Green; Sept. 3, 1922, in Kansas. She was married to Don Cook in 1941 at Bremerton, Wash. Besides her husband, she is survived by seven children, Michael, Philip, Patrick, Mary Ann. Rose Mary, Ruth Marie, and Joseph. Preceding her in death was John James, one week old son, who died in November. She also is survived by her parents of Portland, and a sister, Eileen Moran of Los Angeles.
