S t OFFICIAL RESULTS: - .21.8 miles per gallon averaged by 20 stock American cars in certified test In the greatest road test of performance and mileage characteristics of American stock cars, 20 automobiles vied for Sweepstakes and price class honors in the 1934 Mobilgas Economy Run. These cars wer protected with new Mobiloil Special and used a completely new gasoline which is soon to be announced to the public. Under supervision of the American Automobile Association, the 20 cars started the 1335-mile, maximum legal speed course from Los Angoles up into Yosemite National Park, and on to Sao Francisco. The second day, drivers pushed up the snow-packed Sierras, over 7135-foot Donner Summit, acrosa Nevada to Elko. Wednesday, the cars finished the last leg Into Sun Valley. Temperature ranged from desert heat to near free'ing; cars went from sea level to 7135 feet, w.th Widely varying humidity conditions that tested both en gine and new gasoline performance. Sows sold mostly 25 cents higher. Salable receipts to taled 8,000. In the cattle section fed steers sold steady to 50 cents lower in slow dealings while heifers held steady to 25 cents higher in an ac tive trade, A few loads of choice to prime steers brought $28.00 to $29.50. Most good and choice steers were taken at $20.00 to $25.50. hoice to low prime heifers sold for $22.00 to $25.00 with one load at $25.25.
