E. W. Duncan, formerly of
Portland, has purchased the
home of the late Mrs. E. G.
White, and has taken posses
sion. Grace Beach has returned
from her California trip and is
now able to keep her house
work up and care for her
mother, Cora Whitlaw, who
lives with her here.

Dr. Roben Maaske, presi
dent of OCE, was speaker for
the Tuesday noon meeting of
the Monmouth Luncheon club
held in the Monmouth hotel.
His topic was, 'Tales of the
Deep South" and told of his
teaching experiences in North
Carolina and travels in other
southern states. John Horns,
former art instructor at OCE,
now taking graduate work at
OSC was present.
Mrs. Walter Baker is visit
ing her children in and around
St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. and Mrs. Selden Bria
tow and two sons of Bend
visited her mother and sister,
Mrs. Mary Overholser and
Mrs. Nona Ford over the
week-end.
Thirty two persons were
present for the luncheon of the
Junior Aid of the EUB church
Thursday. Mrs. J. Cady, Mrs.

Hinshaw and Mrs. Viola Skin

cake baked by Mrs. Delia Wil
son. The business meeting

The group voted to hold
their annual bazaar next De
cember and work committees
were named for the bazaar.
The treasury received S21S at
the last bazaar. Mrs. Delia
Wilson. Mrs. Lillian Dixon
and Mrs. Edith Conrow were
named on the finance commit
tee. The name of the organiza
tion was changed to the La
dies Aid. The Martha class
party to be held on Friday,
Jan. 19, was announced. The
next Aid meeting will be held
on Feb. 4 and hostesses will
be Mrs. Lillian Dixon, Mrs. A.
C. Miller and Mrs. G. Grover.
