Thursday at the home of Mrs.

Rd. Members enjoyed a Christ
mas party. Gifts were taken
for children, at the Chemawa
school. Plans were made to
help a Keizer family. The club
decided to purchase a tree for
the new Cummings school
yard, to be given In memory of
Wilba Lappen.

Bus Redinger of 5218 New-

hand while repairing a vacu
um cleaner last Sunday after
noon. His hand is better and
he was back on the Job the past

Woodburn The first and
second degrees were con
ferred upon eight candidates
at a special meeting of Wood
burn Grange No. 79, Friday
night, Dec. IS, at the Grange
hall. Lawrence Paradis, the
newly installed master, pre
sided for the first time.
A Christmas dinner was
served at 7:30 p.m. under the
direction of Mrs. Lela Hugill,
home economics chairman, as
sisted by Mrs. B. H. Odekirk
and Mrs. R. Avin.
Special guests were State
Deputy Schooling and Mrs.
Schooling, and Ira Loron of
Sllverton, Grange i insurance
representative. '

was taken to the penitentiary.

against Cory.
