Dr. K. Guild of Wood
burn, who is on a two weeks
vacation, will reopen his den
tal office Aug. 17.
Mrs. Mary Haney has re
turned - to Woodburn after
spending a month's vacation in
North Dakota, visiting relatives.

near Liberal, Kan.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Seller
(Mayanna Miller) of Wood-
burn are parents of their first
child, a boy, Stephen Michael,
born Aug. 10 at the Woodburn
hospital, weight eight pounds.

also has a great-grandmother,

his Junior year at Oregon State

drive to bis father's farm and

kin, to first lieutenant in the
air force nurse corps. Miss
Pipkin was the school nurse
in the Sweet Home grade and
elementary school until her en
listment in the air force nurse
corps. Lt. Jean Pipkin is sta
tioned at Beale air force base
at Beale, Calif. '
Swimming classes under ths
sponsorship of the Red Cross,
which were si ted to start
Monday, were postponed until
Tuesday to allow for cleaning
of the pool. ,
The class will be held for
three weeks and the instructors
will be Mrs. Osburn Shaw,
Mrs. Frank Kikel and Ken
Cardwell.
0 a.m. is the time slated for
those who know how to swim,
1 10 a.m. for intermediates, and
1 11 a.m. for the beginner class
for age 6 and over.

Friday, Aug. 14, because of the

for care after he suffered a
stroke at his home here. His
