Tuesday overwhelmingly de
feated a measure which pro
posed a $890,000 bond issue to
finance construction of a new
high school.
The vote against the meas
ure was nearly two-to-one with
a record-breaking 2,752 votes
cast at the special election. The
vote waa 1,787 against the
bond issue to 96$ for the pro
posal. The total vote was more
than twice that of last year
when a similar measure was
defeated by 117 votes.
