Crockatt of Salem. The wedding will be in the afternoon of August 10 at 4 o'clock in the First Presbyterian church in Portland, the recep tion following to be at the Ober teuffer home, Nineacres Farm. Among affairs to be given in honor of the bride-elect preced ing her wedding will be the par ty for which Miss Jocelyn Davis and Miss Elizabeth Waddell, the latter of Lebanon, are to en tertain on Sunday, July 27, at the Bruce F. Pickett home here. About 25 have been invited for a late afternoon party, a shower to fete the bride and a buffet supper to be served. Mrs. Harper Jamison of Mc Minnville also is entertaining to honor Miss Oberteuffer, plan ning the luncheon for the brides maids. Violin Recitals On 2 Evenings The John Wallace Graham Studio of Music announces two concerts of the pupils of Miss Bonnie Litchenberg, Thursday and Fridays evenings in the aud itorium of the First Methodist church at 8 o'clock. The Thursday evening con cert is to be the annual public presentation of violin and guitar students from the Salem, Silver ton, Lebanon and Albany stu dios, with 125 pupils participat ing. Advanced students from the Salem and Albany studios will play group violin numbers in a formal concert on Friday. A special feature of the Thurs day evening concert is to be the violin choir, with Friday's pres entation including group violin numbers of the Bach Double Concerto in D Minor and the March of the Wooden Soldiers. Assisting Miss Litchenberg and Prof. Graham with the con certs will be Miss Angela Hart- man, instructor of the Dallas studio, and John Walstcd of the Sweet Home studio. Accompan 1st for the formal concert will be Mrs. Hallie Ecklcy. Students participating in the formal concert will be Berthel Adams, Carol Cole, Howard Edi ger, Gene Eiswerth, Carlene Greist, Angela Hartman, Melvin Hasche, Bill Heard, Jim Helt- zcl. Dinner for Groups Forty members of Willam ette encampment of I OOF and auxiliary met for a no-host din ner at the Odd Fellows temple Friday evening. Miss Wilrta Sicgmund presided over the auxiliary meeting following the dinner. Mrs. W. H. Gardner presented the group with $10 as a gift from the Three Links club, and Mrs. Gustavo Erikson was apnointrd lo purchase a flag lor use in the meetings. Plans to attend a slate-wide conclave at Klamath Falls in late September will be made at the meeting on August 1. Visitors Welcomed Silverton At the Robert Allen home for several davs have been their daughter. Miss Arlene Allen, supervisor of nurses at Portland St. Vincent hospital, and the family of an other daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Al Toth and Yvonne and Yolanda of Hayward, Calif., where Mrs. Toth is a member of the high school faculty in the home eco nomics department, and Mr. Toth is manager of a Safeways store. Both young women wrre giv en spennl honors at the Mon day evening meeting of the Del bert Reeves unit No. 7, Ameri can Legion auxiliary, when their mother was installed a presi dent of the unit for the coming year. Mrs. Barr Named by Rotana Club Medford (U.R) Delegates to the national convention of Ro tana International, which ended here Sunday, elected Mrs. Mary Booth, Helena, Mont., as presi dent for the comng year. Other new officers chosen for the classified service club for women in business and the pro fessions included: Mrs. Marie Barr, Salem, Ore., first vice president; Mrs. Grace Stadalman, Laurel, Mont., second vice president, and Mrs. Agnes Sheridan, Butte, Mont., relected treasurer. New members of the board of directors were Mrs. Anne Amick, Bend, Ore.; Mrs. Leonel Heater, Grants Pass, Ore., and Mrs. Bernice Zeiler, Billings, Mont. SILVERTON Judge and Mrs. Alf. O. Nelson were hosts July 18 to all members of their im mediate family living in Silver- ton, honoring visiting relatives from Seattle. The dinner was served on the patio of the Nel son home. The fourteen guests Included the families of Mr. and Mrs. Don Burch (Frances Nel son), Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nel son and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Nelson. being read at the First Christian I church by the Rev. Brooks Moore of the First Methodist church. The bride is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd A. j McFarlane and Mr. Nafziger is (the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Nafziger. The bridal gown of lace and net over satin was fashioned en train with full skirt and deep lace inset. The fitted bodice and long sleeves were of lace and were trimmed in seed pearls. The bride, given in marriage by her father, carried white steph anotis with a white orchid center and her fingertip illusion veil was held by a pearl tiara. Mrs. Jack McFarlane, matron of honor, wore a pale green gown of net with full length skirt, and matching taffeta sash at the waist. A violet bunch was fastened to the low halter-effect j neckline and the bouquet was of: small pink roses and purple' daisies. The bridesmaids, Miss Mary Bischoff and Miss Ruth Bischoff, wore dresses of orchid, styled similarly o the honor attend ant's, and carried bouquets of small pink roses and purple daisies. Edgar Nafziger, the bride groom's brother, was best man. Ushering were Jack McFarlane, Gary McFarlane, Artnur Matsu das, Alton Roth, Bob Roth. Lighting the tapers in the church were Mrs. James Black man and Mrs. Homer Davenport. Nuptial music was played at the organ by Mrs. J. M. Cracroft. Soloist for the ceremony was Henry Dalke. Mrs. M. F. Becker and Mrs. Floyd McFarlane, aunts of the bride, cut the bride's cake at the reception in the church parlors. Mrs. Glen McFarlane, aunt of the bride, Mrs. Harvey Michaelis and Mrs. Julia Dowdall were in charge of the punch bowl. Mrs. Richard Mitchell passed the guest book. EUGENE DAVIDSON has gone to Seaside for a week or 10 days and while there is meeting her sister, Mrs. Ray mond Jones. 8 and 40 Group Meets at Picnic Mrs. Harry Humphreys and Mrs. G. W. Robertson also gave a reading on the flag. Following the meeting, a dutch treat honoring Mrs. Mary Ackerman was attended by Mrs. Sarah Peterson, Mrs. C. G. Rob ertson, Mrs. C. R. Pierce, Mrs. Goldia Kyle, Mrs. Lura Tandy, Mrs. Fred Barker, Mrs. Blanche Stewart, Mrs. Gus Erickson, Mrs. Florence E. Shipp. The next meeting of the Wom en's Relief Corps will be Aug ust 15. Sunday Eve Exchanging nuptial vows Sun day evening at 7:30 o'clock in a setting of red and white gladio luses were Miss Janet Marie Kufner, daughter of Mrs. Sam Rutherford and John Kufner, and John Marvin Rex, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rex. The ceremony was solomlzed at St. Mark's Lutheran church with the Rev. John L. Cauble officiating. Pink organdy eyelet dresses, with organdy stoles were worn' by the candlelighters. The bride, wearing a white satin gown with a net yoke and satin peplum, was given in mar riage by her father. A coronet trimmed with pearls held the fingertip length veil. The dress of the honor attend ant, Mrs. Gordon Hamilton, was of powder blue taffeta with se quins on net decorating the over skirt and stole. Mrs. Hamilton carried a nosegay of pink and white gladioluses, sweet peas, roses and snapdragons and pink lace. Miss Patricia MacDonald and Mrs. Alvin Kampstra were the bridesmaids, their taffeta dresses of strapless design with sequined net stoles. Miss MacDonald's dress was pink, Mrs. Kampstra's blue. Their nosegays matched their dress colors. Junior bridesmaid was the bride's sister, Karen Rutherford, who wore a pink taffeta dress and carried a matching nosegay. In blue dresses, styled like that of the junior bridesmaid's were flower girls, Shari Le Hofstetter and Margo Foote. They carried baskets of assorted flowers. Melvin Rex stood with his brother as best man.
