Road Requested to
Open Subdivision
Dedication of a strip of land
approximately one block in
length for public road purposes
is being sought by Abrams &
Skinner for the purpose of open
ing up a sub-division in the vi
cinity of Ellis and Park ave
nues. The firm has already develop
ed a section between Evergreen
and Park avenues and in a con
ference with the county court
Thursday it developed that the
owner of the block in question
is not willing to have the road
opened through his property.
Abrams & Skinner state they
own land to the east of the
block. An extension of Ellis
avenue to the eastward would
open up property in the vicin
ity of the new Hoover grade
school now under construction.
Salem. Oregon's rnnitnl iitv
is the only major city in the
state which lies in two coun
ties, namelv Mnrinn nnH Pnlb-
separated by the Willamette
xtiver.
