THE BOARD for Women of
Rotary met on Monday at the
home of Mrs. Ivan Stewart for
dessert. Plans were made for
the group's regular luncheon
meeting next Monday afternoon.

(to taste).
Method: Put pudding powder

milk, stirring until smooth after
each addition. Cook and stir
over moderate heat until mix

Latvian string trio in concert
Thursday evening in Waller hall,
the program to be at 8:15 o'clock.
In the trio are Viktors Ziedo
nis, violinist; Valdemars Melkis,
pianist, and Dzidris Treimanis,
cellist.

a trip to the east. Mrs. Parker
is to stop in Valley City, N. D
to attend her class reunion at
Valley City State Teachers col
lege, and later will visit rela
lives in Grand Forks. Fargo and
Minneapolis. Mrs. Waters and
Mrs. Butler will go on to New
York City lo visit relatives and
friends. The three will meet in
Kansas Cily and return to Salem
by way of California. They will
be gone a month.

Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Briggs of
Salem are announcing the
forthcoming marriage of their
daughter, Miss Bonnie Glenn
Briggs to Edwin Kaphammer,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kap
hammer, Forest Grove.
The wedding is to take place
at the First Baptist church, Carl
ton, Saturday, June 7 at 8:30 in
the evening. Invitations have
been sent out for the wedding.

Miss Jean Moir, daughter of
Mrs. G. C. Moir of Portland was
married at 3 o'clock on Satur
day, May 17 to Howard L. Jenks,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard B.
Jenks. The ceremony was per
formed by Dr. Brooks Moore,
minister of the First Methodist
church, at the bridegroom's
home in Polk county.
Only immediate members of
the family were present. After
a short wedding trip, the couple
will be at home in Polk county.
