A wrap, in matching copper faille, picks up the sequin trim, to com plete the ensemble. New Hats Are More Rakish, More Lavish and More Exciting Hats will be the climax of your fall costume and you'll look more elegant than you have in years, judging from the mil linery shown in all new colec tions. The tip on fall millinery, emanating from the Millinery Fashion Bureau, is that the "level-headed look" is waning and new hats are to be worn at a more rakish angle, well back of the hairline and down on the right side. The currently popular "for ward line" is pushed into the fashion background by these tilted silhouettes, but is none the less present, in versions of toques and berets that have more rounded contours. Because of the Victorian ele gance in fall costumes, hats are more elaborate than they have been in the past few seasons. The rounded contour's of fall coats and suits are matched by plump and curvaceous hats. Elaborate embroideries and headings echo the Victorian mood: Ostrich and ostrich tips appear again and again in both designers' creations and popu lar priced hats. The millinery fashion scene will blaze with pewels, sesquins, gold and silver embroideries, gleaming satin and metallic fabrics. In every price range, this return to elegance comes as a welcome change of pace from the plain little berets and calots of the past seasons. Two-toned velours and gleam ing satin-surfaced felts have lng satin-surfaced felts have a rich look for daytime costumes. A special group of hats in metallic tones lend their bril- liance to a scene devoted to the importance of antique gold, copper, silver, green bronze, steel and brass. Other colors favored include peacock blue, vivid reds, the orange and russet shades, violet, the greys and beiges, paling to off-white and pure white. The always-good black hat is newly exciting, with black velvet facings, satin bindings and pipings, braid and passa menterie. Coq and ostrich feath ers, veiling and nets are used to enrich the basic black hat. The hats of the season are adaptable and can be worn straight on the head, at the back of the head to expose the hair line, and in a smart profile man ner. There's New Color Interest in Fall Hosiery Themes The growing interest in grey for all 'round fall wear, creates color interest in the new sea son's hosiery. Glowing rich browns will blend with browns, go smoothly with blacks (in the new brown with black trend) and look just elegant with grey, royal blue and plum-purple. A sophisticated tone to Wear with black, grey, royal and brown is a misty-slate cast with black. A clear, glowing grey . . . muted softly to blend with dark greys, is the perfect hosiery shade for rose-to-plum hues too. Pencil-fine seams . . . black clocks . . . side clocks and hand painted designs are keynoted for that extra-svelte touch for leg flattery. -o Here for Fall jr our famous Knox fkk1' J ' M0.95 I " 11 vTAi S I You'll love it a bushel fond a peck and you'll love the way it ripples 'round your face with worlds - of charm and flattery! fine felt trimmed with contrasting grosgrain ribbon 10.95 a pwol Jnfeieit in a MATCH - MAKER Wardrobe of 4-Seasons Flannel Here It is the same, fun-loving look which you adored and were adored in this summer in White Stag Sun Togs.
