McMinnville Some of the top horses in the National Cutting Horse association will be seen in action Sunday, Sept. 23. at the Yamhill County Sheriffs Posse rodeo grounds in McMinn ville. . The cutting horse exhibitions will be held in conjunction with a rodeo and fun day program sponsored by the Yamhill posse. The cutting horse competition will be held in two sections dur ing the afternoon show, which will also feature riding and rop ing events. The Sunday show has been approved by the as sociation for points toward the Pacific Coast division champion ship. "Barney," ridden by Van Wei der, Salem, will be one of the horses to beat in the McMinnville show. A former association champion, he is regarded as one of the top horses in cutting horse competition. "Patches," an im port from Houston, Tex., will be ridden by Mrs. Van Weider and is another highly regarded cut ting horse. Among other outstanding horses expected to compete in the show Sunday are "Handy Pat." ridden by Ray Adams, Mon mouth: "Silver Flex." handled by Grant Ferris, Salem; and sev eral other horses from Oregon and as far away as Seattle, Wash.
