Air Force Officer Seeks to Promote World Citizenship Tokyo, Japan, June 14 D Lt. Robert D. Farrlngton, 25-year-old air force officer, said today that he had requested permission from Gen. Douglas MacArthur's headquarters to stay In Japan and work for the world citizenship movement. rarrington said that he would give up his American citizen ship if necessary to stay In this country. iA A n 1 F T lYl M l l L f QUOTATIONS He iddtd that he had carried on correspondence with Garry Da via, former American air force bombardier who gave up his American citizenship in France to become a world citi zen , but did not know Davis personally. Farrlngton said he wished to be the representative in Japan of the movement Davis started. Davis, son of society band leader Meyer Davis, recently returned to the United States to marry. Farrlngton said his home was in Washington, DC, but that his mother, Mrs. Harry Wade, now lives in Los Angeles, Calif. He said his mother did not know of his plans. Farrlngton worked for air force public relations before be ing assigned as manager of a hotel for families of air force officers at Hanamaki, a hot springs resort in northern Hon shu. "I will give up my American citizenship if that is necessary," Farrlngton said. "I will live on money I saved from my salary. I will have no outside help. All I want to do is to get permis sion legally through the pro per channels to stay here and carry on this work. "Some people may think I am doing this because I am bitter. That Is not true. I am bitter at nobody. The air force has given me a better than fair deal. So has America. This plan of mine is no reflection on the United States. I hope people will understand that. The truth is that I want to promote the world citizenship program." MtUajra Linstock Chic mo. Junt 14 tL-(UaOA) Ltrt fttoek market: Hqcj: talabla 8.000.
