Open May 1 i Bids on 5 DDT dust and also bids on application of the dust by airplane have been call ed for by May 1, according to Charles Ross, president of the Polk County Dusting Coopera tive. The board of directors, in planning the work of the dust ing cooperative for the 1950 crop season, estimate over 16, 000 acres may be dusted by the cooperative this year. Bids for 5 DDT dust 42 to 44 weight have been called for to be opened May 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the board of directors meeting. Bids are re quested on 150 tons more or less, with a possibility of 200 tons being needed by the co operative, Ross stated. Grower contracts will be pre pared immediately following the acceptance of bids on dust and application by airplane.
