April 21 fPi Radio-television shares took over their familiar spot as the market's leaders today. The main body of stocks made a little headway In the face of heavy opposition, with gains limited to fractions for the most part. Selected TV Issues ran up one to around three points. A number of low-Priced stocks made a showing, as well as a couple of shares affected by special developments. Trading was heavy from start to fin ish. Turnover hit a rate of close to 3, 000,000 shares for the full session. The market surged ahead around mid day, paced by the volatile TV division. Large-scale profit-taking later lopped off the widest gains. Western Union was again In demand following yesterday's Jump of 3i points to 27 6 Indictments By Grand Jury The Marion county grand jury returned six indictments Thurs day while returning two not true bills on felony charges and one secret indictment. Two burglary indictments were returned listing George Wright and Don Erickson, both of Aumsville. They were order ed held for circuit court action for the alleged burglary of the Aumsville tavern where some $200 in rolled nickels was stolen. The four other indictments were for obtaining money by false pretenses. Listed were Kenneth John Bernard, Wood burn; Robert W. Morrow, 2995 Cherry avenue; Harold B. Gour lcy, Eugene and Allie Mclrvin Derrick alias Frank Green. Charges of obtaining money by false pretenses were dismiss ed against Carrol A. Peterson, 1811 North 4th. Bill Smith, Sil verton Star route, was also freed by the jury of a charge of threat ening to commit a felony. OBITUARY Dr. Charles J. Bushnell Dayton Graveside services will be held at the Masonic cemetery, Albany, on Sat urday, April 22, at 11 a.m. for Dr. Charles J. Bushnelt, 74, of Toledo. Ohio, who passed away Sunday, April 16. He had been 111 two years. Mrs. (OLa Hewitt) Bushnell. Is the daughter of the late Judge Henry H. Hewitt, Albany. She Is still teaching In the University of Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Bushnell was a nephew of the late Dr. L. L. Hewitt. Dayton, and was president of Pacific university, For rst Grove, from 1913 to 1918. Mrs. L. L. Hewitt and Kenneth Pomeroy, Dayton, will attend the services. Services are under the direction of Fort miller and Fredericks, mortuary, Albany. Preston Ireland Lebanon Preston Ireland. 69. a resi dent of Linn county for 36 years, died Wednesday at his home, 591 Grant street. He was born Sept. 6, 1880 at Scio. He was a well known farmer of the Lacomb area before his retirement. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Howe Huston chapel with Rev. Lynn ton Elwell, officiating. Burial will be In the IOOF cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Adah; daughter, Mrs. Wlllma John of Portland; sister, Mrs. Laura E. Maddux of Vallcjo, Cam., two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. MRS. MARIE NELSON Woodburn Mrs. Marie Nelson, wife of Arthur C. Nelson, and a former well known resident of Woodburn, died Wed nesday at her home In San Jose, Cali fornia on the eve of her 72nd birthday anniversary. Mrs. Nelson was born In New Lisbon, Wisconsin, April 20, 1878 and came to Woodburn from South Dakota In 1906. The family lived here until 1934 where Mr. Nelson was engaged In business. From here they moved to Portland and fn 1947 moved to their present home in San Jose. In September, 1947, they cele brated their golden wedding anniversary, at San Jose.
