He heard her scream, mingled

'. They reached the porch, started

Ace seemed to sag. He hauled up
on his tiptoes and then sank down
to lie still. Near him lay two
others.

other man. pounding on the door.

in closer. Out on the plain Blue
Star and Lily Belle were run
ning. Miguel's figure hunched low
over the horn. Rifles were spang
Ing and Jay could see the dust

saddle on Rover Boy and the big
