A late dessert will be served. Miss King is to be married August 12 to Donald Crouch in Portland. In the group for the Friday party will be Miss King, Miss Joyce Smith, Miss Luella Camp bell, Miss Wanda Hathaway Miss Joanne Blaxall, Miss Mari lyn Hill, Mrs. Keith Morris, Mrs Harvey Loveall, Miss Pat Bur rell and the hostess. Picnic for IOOF Groups, Aug. 14 Woodburn The regular meeting of Home Rebekah lodge No. 58 was held Tuesday eve ning at the IOOF hall with Mrs. Sidney Gummings presiding. Mrs. Myrtle Hall gave a report on the proposed change in the constitution to raise the annual dues which will be voted upon at the next meeting. Plans were made for the an nual picnic for Rebekahs, Qdd Fellows and families to be held August 14 at Settlemier park with a no host picnic dinner at 1 o'clock p.m. Committees for this event will be appointed at the next meeting. Mrs. Robert Scott, Miss Laura Bonney and Mrs. Lafe Peterson were ap pointed as the refreshment com mittee for the next meeting, August 2. Games were enjoyed after the meeting, directed by Mrs. H. A. Lohse and Mrs. C. E. Peyton with prizes going to Mrs. Henry Stange and Mrs. Elsie Ryder. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Thomas Engle, Mrs. W. S. McClain and Miss Hazel Engle. Visitors Feted At Party Today Hostesses this afternoon at a luncheon and bridee party were Mrs. Horace D. McGee and Mrs Maynard Shiffer at the home of the former. The affair honored Mrs. Mc Gee's sister-in-law. Mrs. Nor man Beebe, visitor from Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Jon Trost, who is visiting from Rochester Minn., as guest of her brother- in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wing. LYONS A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank White when their oldest daughter, Miss Leila Mae White was married to Ger ald Rockwell, son of Mrs. Nellie Dahlenberg, on Saturday after noon, July 9 at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Wlllard Buckner of Stay ton reading the ceremony before about 40 relatives and close friends. The bride wore a teal blue floor length gown, and car- Couple Feted At Shower A group of young people met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cook in honor of Miss Cleo Scheidel, and her fiance, Curtis Coe, who are to wed soon. These next three days arel busy ones for the members of the Salem Rotana club, women's service group, the annual na tional convention for Rotana clubs to open here Friday afternoon. Headquarters are at the Mar ion hotel. The three-day program be gins tomorrow afternoon with a luncheon meeting for the na tional board at 1:30 o'clock Highlighting Friday evening will be the "western fun night' at the Marion hotel with the McMinnville club members as hostesses. Business sessions and other events are on the Saturday cal endar, with the convention's formal banquet slated for Sat urday evening at 7 o clock at the Marion hotel. Neva Elliott, Portland attor ney, is to be speaker for the banquet. The convention winds up Sun day morning with a board meet ing a trip for all convention delegates and visitors to the beach. Of special interest for Salem is the fact one of the local club's members, Miss Vada L. Hill, is the national Rotana pre sident and will preside at the convention sessions. Mrs. Little has been executive director of the Salem YW for several years here. VISITORS from San Francis co are Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wood house, who are guests at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Lowry. The visitors are leaving Sunday on a trip through Neva da before returning to their home. 2-Ball Foursome Set for July 31 Plans for a two-ball foursome event on July 31 at the Salem Golf club were announced at the Women's day yesterday. New members for the wom en's group announced Wednes day include Mrs. B. G. Ander son, Mrs. W. H. Hamilton, Mrs. Clay Eggelston. SILVER BELL Circle No. 43, Neighbors of Woodcraft, will be host to the first District pep meeting Friday at 8 p.m. at the Salem Woman's club house, 460 No. Cottage St. The district captain, team and officers will be in charge of ritualistic work for the evening.
