Helen Shepard To Be Entertained Miss Helen Shepard, attrac tive, dark-haired bride-elect of George Alexander, whose wed ding will take place Saturday, March 20, at St. Paul's Episco pal church, will be compliment ed when Mrs. R. Albany CDA Court Installed Sunday Court No. 1461, Catholic Daughters of America, was or ganized Sunday at Albany with a charter class of 46. The degree work was conduct ed by Court Capital City of Sa lem, assisted by district deputy, Mrs. Helen White, also of Salem. Salemite Wed In Springfield Rites which took place Decem ber 27, at four o clock, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Emmett George, in Springfield, united in marriage Miss Mavie Eileen Owings and Robert LeRoy Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Jones of Sa lem. Mrs. John Van Osdol lighted the tapers before the wedding, which took place in front of the fireplace banked with greens and pink and white chrysanthemums. Rev. Ellsworth M. Tilton of ficiated. The bride wore a peadl grey crepe afternoon dress with long sleeves, fitted torso and draped, bustle-back skirt, caught with grey satin ribbon. Her shoes were burgundy and she carried a nosegay of paper- white narcissuses, pink rosebuds and centered with gardenias tied with silver and white rib bon. Robert Olson of Salem was best man. Present- for the wed ding were members of the fam ilies. Decorations for the bridal ta ble were white tapers, pink and white chrysanthemums. The cake was encircled with white flowers and maidenhair fern. Mrs. John Van Osdol cut the cake. The couple spent a week at the coast and are now at home in Corvallis. For traveling, the bride wore a forest green wdbl suit with a short fitted jacket and ballerina skirt. Guests Visit 1 OES Chapter A number of distinguished guests were present at the Sat urday night meeting of Salem chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, held at the Masonic Tem ple. Present were Mrs. lima Thum of Cottage Grove, asso ciate grand matron of the grand chapter of Oregon, who gave a school of instruction following the regular meeting, Rex Hart ley, associated royal patron, Jef ferson; Mrs. G. A. Reeher and Herman Johnson, matron and patron of ChacrVvick chapter, OES. Out- f-town guests were pres ent from McAllister, Okla, Se attle, San Francisco and lone. In charge of decorations for the evening were Mrs. Arthur Wallace, Mrs. J. L. Cutler and Mrs. George Edwards. Camp Fire Leaders To Install Officers New officers of the Salem Camp Fire Leaders association will be installed Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Fireplace room of the First Presbyterian church. Chairman is Mrs. Lyle D. Shepherd and her officers will be Mrs. Ralph Steele, vice chair man; Mrs. E. D. Burres, secre tary and Mrs. P. C. Anderson, treasurer. Outgoing officers are Mrs. George T. Hewitt, chairman; Mrs. Lyle Shepherd, vice chair man; Mrs. Paul Holloway, sec retary and Mrs. Lawrence Meg quier, treasurer. Blue Bird leaders and Camp Fire guardians are requested to bring sack lunches. The pro gram will include a round-table discussion. The Mothers' club of Salem Heights school will meet Thurs day at 1 o'clock in the school cafeteria. Mrs. D. L. Zwicker will be in charge of the program. The refreshment committee is headed by Mrs. Leo E. Olson of the fourth grade mothers. The Past Presidents club of Marion auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars will meet at the home of Mrs. Russell Mudd, 1690 South Winter street, Wednesday evening at 6:30 for a no-host dinner with their husbands as guests.
