Salem Saddle Club Has Fun Night Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hofstctter and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith cr entertained the Salem Sad dle club with a hilarious Fun Night program last Friday night. Tonight there will be a re lay Fun Night program with the hostesses Miss Gladys Zell, 1 Mrs. Pauline Kane, Miss Kate Dunaway, Miss Virginia Kline, " Miss Bernice Mischlcr and Mrs. Van Weider sponsoring one event each and providing, the prizes and refreshments for the social hour after the show. Miss Brown Weds Orville T. Thompson Waconda Ceremony solemn ized at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Harvey Scheuerman in Monmouth the evening of April 11 at 8 o'clock, was that at which Miss Elinor Brown, t daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl ' Brown of Waconda, became the bride of Orville T. Thompson, third class P. O., United States navy, of Hannibal, Mo., with Rev, Scheuerman officiating. Little Miss Gloria Scheuer man lighted the tapers at the improvised altar decorated with an arrangement of mixed flow ers and Miss Opal Scheuerman sang "Because" and played the wedding marches. The bride wore a white chif fon gown fashioned with a sweetheart neck and shirred bodice and full skirt. Her floor length veil was edged with lace and fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white car nations. Miss Shirley Brown was her sister's only attendant. She wore a petal blue lace and net gown and carried a bouquet of Couple Plights Troth At Monday Ceremony Scio Solemnized Monday afternoon at the Baptist church were the marriage vows of Miss Marilyn A. Pynch, daugh ler ot Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pynch of the Providence com munity near Scio, and Erwin M. Burge of Lebanon. Rev. V. L. Loucks was the officiating clergyman. The bride is a recent gradu ate of the Lebanon high school Her husband 'prior to leaving for scivice with the army air corps at Wendover field, Utah, where the couple will make their home, resided in Leb anon. Mr. and Mrs. Morris pink and white carnations and ! Qelebr at e Anniversary Your Smile," and Miss Louise Wattenbarger sang. "I Love You Truly." Miss Lois Smith in turquoise taffeta, and Miss Louise Wattenbarger in peach taffeta lighted the altar can dles. The bride wore a white gown of imported organza, made with fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline and puff ed sleeves and a full skirt. She wore pink rosebuds in her hair, and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and pastel sweet peas, from which fell a shower of blue streamers tipped with sweet peas. Miss Gaynell Cole, the bride s only attendant, wore a gown of aqua taffeta and a corsage ot rosebuds. Monte Weddle served as best man for Mr. Schweinfurth. The couple greeted their guests in the foyer of the church after the ceremony. Re reivine with the bridal party were the bride's mother and Mrs. Schweinfurth. At the reception held at the home of the bride for immedi ate relatives and close friends, the serving table was covered wilh a hand crocheted cloth and was centered the bride's cake. Mr. and Mrs. Schweinfurth will make their home on the bridegroom's farm north of Jefferson. sweet peas. Little Miss Eloise Brown, sis ter of the bride, who was flower girl, wore a pink and blue satin gown and carried a nosegay of sweet peas and roses. Sergeant Gilbert Warren of Camp Adair, served as best man for Mr. Thompson. At the reception, held follow ing the ceremony, Mrs. Arthur Griffin cut the wedding cake and Mrs. Karl Brown served ices. Mrs. Thompson will make her home with her parents while Mr. Thompson, now stationed at Long Beach, Calif., is serving in the U. S. navy. Dallas Mr. and Mrs. Ed A. Morris celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home at 502 Hayter street, Tues day evening, with open house to their relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Morris, resi dents of Dallas for the past eight years, were married in Des Moines, la., April 18, 1894. and moved to Portland in 1909. Two daughters, Mrs. George Millikin of Roseburg and Mrs. F. L. Haynes of Dallas, and a granddaughter, Betty Lou Mil likin, were present for the an niversary celebration.
